My Tribe will win 90+ games. Then get swept in the ALDS. Same as it ever was...

Yup. Seems like management seems to be slowly transitioning to a rebuild. Every year the rest of the AL's top teams get better and the Tribe get worse.

I don't even know if the Indians will be 90 wins good and it probably still won't matter.

The Twins might be a threat if everything goes right for them. If at the end of this season the AL Central produces the first ever sub 500 division winner I won't be surprised.

The Reds report out of spring training is that they're going to score RUNS this year.

The Twins finished second last year and I have a hard time believing there's ever been a more hapless second-place team in MLB.  Being in that division and the existence of an unbalanced schedule should be enough to get Cleveland to 90.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

When was the last time an MLB player was featured in a national commercial?  I see NBA players and NFL players in national commercials all of time but where are the MLB players?  When did baseball change from a sport where individual players were heavily marketed to being more about the game itself?  Was it due to the steroid trials?

Probably changed when baseball became "boring" for younger people. Most people I know in their 20s or younger care very little about baseball because they just don't find the games exciting.

This season is already a :censored:ing disaster for the Giants.

The story so far has been Baer’s “fell down the stairs”-type excuse and now this. Jeebus.

The 1986 Phillies (21.5 games out!) want you to hold their beer.

The 1995 Royals (30 games out in a 144 game strike shortened season) want you to hold their beer.

Jesus Christ - how is that even possible?

also, the trout thing is getting out of hand. I saw two Trout Phillies jerseys at the Sixers game last night, and apparently people are trying to order them already (but they’re out of the letter R now since the Harper signing so there’s delays... seriously.)

That's crazy.  Neverthess...

  • 1986 Phillies: .534 winning percentage.  Not a terrible team; just a better than mediocre team behind a 108-win buzzsaw.
  • 1995 Royals: .486.  Again, behind dominant team (Cleveland won 100 games in a 144-game season)
  • 2018 Twins: .481.  Not the gaudy "games back" number of the other two.  Cleveland only won 91 games last year.

I'd argue that the Twins are the worst of this bunch.  Philly was over .500.  The Royals?  Well I don't recall whether the schedules were unbalanced in 1995 or if that happened later but the Royals either 1) had to play a ridiculously good Cleveland team a bunch of times or 2) did not get the benefit of playing the lowly Central a ton.  Either way, I think the Twins had an easier schedule.

It’s bad when Sprite rather use LeBron James to do baseball commercials than actual baseball players.

They try super hard to push Mike Trout but oops, a great player also happens to have a kinda bland personality. Bryce Harper gets what, 2 words in a T-Mobile ad? Why’s old man Frank Thomas in more commercials than any other active player?

How is that even possible? Most sites like that have a policy against using a player’s name and number on another team’s jersey.
