Team has no chance of staying on top of the Braves for more than another week. Team is a freaking mess, and the manager got into a shouting match with a radio host (the manager was right, IMO, and the host was an idiot.) Jay Bruce has been on absolute fire since being acquired, but eventually it'll wear off and McCutchen's loss will be very noticeable. Multiple people are alleged to have been shot outside of a nightclub he and a few friends were at. No further information about his condition is known at this time. The reports about him being shot in the leg were incorrect. He was shot in the lower back/abdomen area and had to undergo surgery last night. The good news is he’s out of surgery, and it looks like he will be okay. There is also a video allegedly showing the shooting. I won’t post it here due to its graphic nature, but it shows Ortiz sitting at a an outdoor table with a guy walking right up to him from behind and opening fire. Dude gets of his bike and just walks behind ortiz who was eating, pulls out his gun and shoots him at point blank range and runs off. Looks like a hit to me. With how well known he is, I have a hard time believing Ortiz of all people could be mistaken for anyone, especially in the DR.
