Made a similar thread in 2013 with the title that had 6 pages, but it was locked. After seeing the Jurkic leg injury from last night against the Brooklyn Nets, it made me have to do this topic.

That's a bad one, but I think Paul George and his injury tops this because of the cringe factor alone... there's a huge difference between a compound fracture and having you ankle nearly broken off like George had.

For a game I was actually at? High school state championship game. Kid's knee bent the wrong way. Hyperextended. It happened near the endzone and I was right in the lower seats in front of it. His scream of pain was something I never want to hear again. 

 

 

For worst I've seen on tv? Probably the Louisville basketball player.

And yeah, Kevin Ware is among THE worst I have ever seen.

I was at this game when it happened. Should've known this day was going to be weird due to the Chiefs wearing white at home. Trent Green was lying on the ground for 10 minutes as the roster of convicts and degenerates Marvin Lewis called his players were taunting him as he was writhing in agony.

The Gordon Hayward injury last year. Simply looked gruesome.

I was watching women's handball live online and a Swedish woman jumped up for a shot and when she landed her knee went sideways and she went down in a heap.  She had to be carried off the court and carted off.  Nasty.  That's the worst one I remember but there's probably been others.

She dislocated both knees, and broke both legs. It must have been excruciating

Not sure if this one really counts within the spirit of this thread, but Caleb Moore's injury which led to his death at the 2013 Winter X Games is probably one of the most brutal things I've ever seen live. The fact that he was able to get up on his own accord and walk away from it makes the whole thing even more surreal.

He was attempting a backflip (a trick he had done several times before) when the skis on his snowmobile were snagged on the ground as he was about to land. I was watching the games where Dennis Byrd was paralyzed, the Joe Theismann leg break, and the Ed McCaffrey leg break on 9/10/01.  All were horrid to see on live television.
