Because no teams primary home uniform has ever not been white/cream. There has never been a sand home uniform

I mean when you compare the shade of the D-backs jersey with the Giants home jersey it isn't that different. Just a little more saturated.

Unless the Padres are playing in Phoenix, I don't see an issue with the D-backs wearing sand at home. They just need pants that match the jersey.

There are things I like here but enough baffling choices that holds these back for me.

The Valley of the Sun alternate is amazing- and it'll barely be seen on the jerseys. Why isn't it on one of the sleeves? It's a better choice than either the state flag or the redundant A.

The cap is interesting but I feel like the A needs a splash of red.

The jagged number font clashes with the curved snake/script wordmark.

These jerseys need matching pants. They're going to look awful paired with either white or grey.

Arizona is in a good spot with this uniform honestly. Like @IceCap said though, there’s some very peculiar choices being made and there’s just too much going on.

• Black primary “A” shows up twice on the uniform (hat, left sleeve)

• State Flag on right sleeve

• New barely visible triangle snake logo on the lower portion of jersey

• Entirely new font being used for the wordmark across the chest

• Red number color when the only other red is being used in barely visible new triangle snake logo and state flag logo

• Number font doesn’t match up properly with wordmark font

• Sand jersey with normal white pants clash badly

Fixes-

• Make the hat “A” red -OR- place triangle snake logo on the hat

• Move triangle snake logo up to left sleeve, removing “A”

• State flag isn’t really needed, but it gets a pass for being the City Connect jersey

• Use a standard block number font

• Recolor the wordmark red

• Add a single black stripe to each sleeve

• Use sand color pants

• Add pinstripes(?)

Nike/MLB might try to argue otherwise, but I don't see a compelling reason for the Diamondbacks jerseys not to have matching sand pants. If there's too much similarity between, say, the Padres, simply don't wear the City Connect that series. Teams already need to coordinate uniforms because MLB is filled with black and navy blue alternates.

Or maybe they aren't worried about similarities and just made a poor design choice.

Are you being serious? The d-backs jersey is much darker

I'm aware that it's darker. My point is that the shade is different enough from grey that they can wear it at home once in a while without causing issues.

Is there anyone with good enough photoshop skills to replace red on this jersey with turquoise? I just really want to see what it looks like and think it would've been a better choice than red.

It would probably need an outline around the numbers for greater contrast.

Definitely needs a black outline, but I certainly do think it's better than the red. Thank you for throwing that together btw.

Speaking of tan/sand uniforms, I feel like in-person, the Padres tan uniforms look rather grey from a distance

I know it’s a few weeks early to make speculations, but I’m pretty curious as to what SF produces. There are definitely a few ways they could go.

The most obvious of the bunch would be inspired by either of the bridges (probably boring, but I’m a sucker for international orange), the fog (which could be an either awful or semi-decent gradient), or something having to do with trolleys (looking at the warriors for this one).

I suppose I could see a Chinese heritage jersey similar to the warriors, but I’d actually love to see something similar to Michael Schwab’s Golden Gate National Parks series which in turn served as inspiration for the 2007 All Star Game.

The Marlins took their inspiration from the Sugar Kings, and the Giants should take their inspiration from the Seals. Anything with the bridges or fog or whatever is missing the mark. But considering that most of these have missed the mark, it’ll probably WILL end up taking inspiration  from bridges or fog or trolleys or whatever.

The seals would be a nice throwback, but that's clearly not the point of these jerseys. The Sugar Kings still played into the community and city theme because of how prevalent the Cuban community is in Miami.

Unless any local seals or sea lions are calling for some recognition from the team, it would probably come off seeming more like a TBTC jersey.

Nike, please invent "Fog City" as a name people call San Francisco and put it on  the Giants' uniforms; I need one of these to be uglier and stupider than what the Cubs have.

Oh dear ...

Personally, I’d like it as a fashion jersey. I’m not sure how I feel about the Red Sox wearing it, though.

That looks pretty bad no matter what it's meant to symbolise.

Logano wins BOWL before Chargers.

Some nod to Asian heritage would be the best approach for a San Francisco City Connect uniform, in my opinion. I'm not sure what the appropriate design elements or inspirations would be, but that theme would feel more genuine than the typical clichés for San Francisco. The Marlins set worked well because they resisted the trite beach, sunset, nightclub, and Vice stuff.
