2022 NFL Season week by week uniform match-up combos: From HOF Game to Super Bowl LVII

For what it's worth, the Eagles regular white jersey was their designated "color rush" jersey, and was simply paired with the existing white pants.  Their all-black alt was just an alt, while their primary white did double duty as color rush.

Just pointing that out that if there's really a need to play within the rules, the Bengals could just say that their "color rush" is their regular white jersey.

That being said, there really aren't going to be any rules, and the NCAAification of the NFL is upon us.  Shouda limited it to throwback helmets only.

If the league is concerned about watering down primary identifies and wants to limit alternate helmet usage, why not just let the teams wear the extra helmet in 2 or 3 games max and let them wear it with whichever combinations they want? Seems like a win-win. This way there aren’t horrible mix and match uniforms like the Saints because they are restricted on how they can implement the helmet.

Not true... From the team's official Slick from last season.

They used  all white for "color rush" when the match-up was deemed to not have enough contrast with the home team by the league.

One thing many people forget is that the NFL is trying to become a global brand and expand outside the US market especially the UK which the NFL has been pushing to get a real hold in for years with the 2 to 3 UK games a year. The UK has different rules around TV broadcast that requires a license to get to view and offers both a more expense color license and a black and white license... yes there are still people who only have black and white TVs in this world of HD and 4K. Color license in the UK cost £159.00 where as the B&W only costs £53.50. The NFL still takes the contrast on B&W TV into consideration in the match-ups.

@canzmansince you have access to logo slicks, can you confirm the silver pants for the Pats?

I can confirm that they are there.

No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms.

Genuinely curious as to what the Jags slick looks like and if it provides any insight to the madness which guides their uni selections. Would they even have a primary listed?

Teams like the Jaguars usually just have them listed all together with a note saying that the pants/socks are interchangeable, so no designations really.

Ah alright. Sheesh, it’s real frustrating when a teams brand can get so loose and messy that you couldnt even say with authority what they would wear in the super bowl if they happened to make it. (almost like they know they never will and just dont care)

Both teams from the Super Bowl this year mixed and matched a ton throughout the season, but I agree this is usually not the case for Super Bowl teams.

If the Chargers are 60, the Rams should be 46 (or even 36 or 16). Not sure why the Rams are 20, tbh.

Wait, I’m completely confused by what this continued discussion is about.  So we’re arguing about the year that Cazman should be putting on the jerseys of his mock ups?

Putting aside the obvious fact that no one should be giving this so much thought energy,  this still seems all over the place.  You want to start counting some teams from their initial start, but others from when they last moved?  Some teams you want to start over from when they changed the name of their location (New England) but not from when they changed their team name (Commanders)?

Okay, be honest.  This is really just more whining about the NFL’s decision to suspend the Browns’ franchise for a few years and start the Ravens as “new”, isn’t it?

I wonder why this comes up as often as it does. You got your team back, Cleveland, and odds are your team doesn't become the team that wins the SB in 2001 without moving to Baltimore. Why does it matter if the NFL pretends the '46-'96 and '99-now Browns are the same franchise?  As long as the Ravens don't try to claim the Browns history (and I'm pretty sure they legally can't), there should be no valid reason to keep discussing this topic in every NFL thread each year.

It's mid-July. What else are we supposed to whine about in this thread?

Under your format, it would need to be:

Ravens: 46

Bengals: 68

Browns: 99

Steelers: 33

Just do it in correspondence of the number franchise they are within the NFL

For instance, Arizona would be be 1 and Houston would be 32

Fun thought. But how would you assign all the Original AFL teams that came into existence at the same time? Same goes for Bucs/Hawks and Panthers/Jags.

Not sure about the other expansions but the Panthers were accepted into the league first, so they would be 29 and JAX would be 30.

I seem to recall that.

But ya, figuring out the AFL entry order could prove to be impossible..
