FiddySicks
Whole lotta Bills over Brady predictions being thrown around here, which has always had a pretty good ROI for the Bills, so, good luck! This is probably the last time I get to act real smug as a fan for awhile, so I’m gonna enjoy it. Bucs making another Super Bowl would rule, but they have to stay healthy first. They’ve already lost Ryan Jensen probably for the season, and the WR core is banged up going into camp. The defense is going to be the real key and idk if they did enough to shore some of the gaps in the secondary that killed them last year. We’ll see, I guess. heavybass
I guess most of the season is fine for some people, what they should of included was mandatory male trainers at all times.

Three away games against teams who's fans will be happy to give him the largest amount of hell possible. If Cleveland is still in the picture for the playoffs I would wonder how much a backlash there would be if he moves right into to the start. I'm guessing we may see him play a full quarter for the last preseason game because he won't be able to practice until 3 weeks out from the Texans game. I think the NFLPA may appeal the length, but I think they should leave the fine alone because he should have to pay something other than time served.

The NFLPA is most definitely going to appeal and go the route of "he already sat the entire year last year, and it would be bad for the league to have a star out for almost two whole years", but this is about as close as we're going to get for justice from the NFL. Still mind boggling that Calvin Ridley (betting on games while not apart of the team) got a whole year off-rip, while Deshaun Watson (sexually assaulting nearly 30 women) probably isn't even going to get those 11 games. PS. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I used to love watching Watson, Hopkins, Watt and the Texans circa 2018-2019, and I thought they would be an AFC powerhouse for years to come. Three years after an AFCCG appearance, and all three players are no longer in Houston, two of them are suspended, and the texans are fumbiling back into Nowhereville.

Why would the NFLPA appeal a decision/settlement they agreed to?

Is it a bigger game? Absolutely. But it wouldn't have the same vitriol as a player returning to his old stadium with his new team and all the press that they can spend that week talking up a game that could be between two teams out of the playoffs, or one team with a shot to get in and another team that let Watson get away with what he did while he was there.

PA wanted 6, league wanted 17, 11 splits the difference. That's how I see it. 3 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
DoctorWhom
Watson's suspensions being anything less than the entire season is BS. Another example of why the NFL is a joke. Apparently all that gambling they advertise is so much worse than slapping your **** across a woman's face. Players have also gotten worse for weed. 2
BBTV
I don't see how Ridley's gambling suspension has anything to do with Watson's situation. 6 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." The fact they punish weed & gambling (the later of which they actively promote) harsher than a guy with over 30 sexual assault allegations is ridiculous. I mean, does anyone really think what Josh Gordon or Calvin Ridley did was worse than what Deshaun did? 2 1

But from a business standpoint, Ridley might be worse. Also, the rule Ridley broke had a defined punishment, whereas what Watson did is in a very gray area - especially since he (to my knowledge) wasn't charged with a crime. Don't get me wrong - I think Watson should have gotten more. But his and Ridley's situation is apples and oranges, and personal-conduct issues can't be compared against other infractions that are more black and white. 5 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Josh Gordon has had about 20 failed drug tests, the first suspension was for 4 games, every subsequent suspension has increased to try to deter him from it more. Also it wasn’t only weed.
Red Comet
Watson makes the NFL look bad off the field. Ridley made it look bad on the field and if the NFL lets that slide, it would lead to more questions about the authenticity of what is happening on the field. So even though the alleged assaulter/rapist gets off easier because despite how disgusting his actions are, it doesn’t effect how people would view the game itself as it is on the field. 3
