I read that too. I assumption is that they wanted for the replicas to better represent the on-field jersey, and if they even sell "on-field authentic" jerseys, they wouldn't come with the larger letters and people would be pissed (not that they care, but maybe they consider it like an unauthorised design change.) 2 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Well, we know Nike doesn’t care about consistency, so who was it?

I suppose this means that these jerseys wick more, which Nike would say is a feature not a bug, but sheesh - that's hard to look at. Even if he's dry on the inside, it looks like that'd be very uncomfortable. Also - is "Wet-Ass Yankee" an acceptable user name? Asking for a friend. These remind me of the NHL Reebok Edge 1.0, when the moisture wicking was too good, causing sweat to pool into players' gloves and making them heavier/nasty. Yet another example of the disaster that is this uniform launch. Not only does it look awful, but as you said, there's no way that's comfortable. Sodboy13
Now that plain white has been "optimized" to off-white by Nike and Fanatics, the off-white of the Phillies' alts seems to be a downright unpleasant shade of almost-yellow. 1 Quote On 1/25/2013 at 1:53 PM, 'Atom said: For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. I'm glad I am not the only one, because I was adjusting my TV set obsessively earlier. They looked piss yellow. I noticed the other day while playing The Show 24 that any of the off-white uniforms look the same garish yellow color in the game, but I was thinking it was either a game-specific thing and/or my TV. Nope, seems the new material just doesn't convey that color well, especially in lighting. When the players stepped into the dugout it would tone down a bit, so there is something about the material that is kind of reflecting the stadium lights and adding to the hue (the grey jerseys seem to be rather reflective as well). Just...so much about this league-wide shift looks like crap.

It’s been modified to work on the new Nike home pants but has been inexplicably missing from the road pants. It’s weird because they should be identical, save for white vs gray. I’m hoping that’s been fixed. The problem here is that with the new belt tunnel placement, the piping doesn't line up and it just looks weird. More unintended consequences, one supposes.

In addition to the fact that this jersey appears to have been pulled out of the washer and put on without being dried, check out the spacing between the second and third buttons. You could drive a truck through that hole. Noticed the same thing on the Orioles' jerseys during Gunnar Henderson's postgame interview today. damnyoutuesday
So the Phillies off-white looks yellow, but the Diamondbacks have looked fine? Also I have not noticed that white uniforms have been changed to a slight off-white, they just look white 1 Quote Sorry, I'm on an iPad

They lose the button there so there’s less of an issue with the jersey script. A lot of authentics have a hidden velcro strip there to keep that spot closed. adsarebad
People complained about the mesh diaper tail on the prevoius Majestic authentic jerseys..... but they were there for a reason, like the mesh underarms and side panel! F fanatics..... but this is a Nike product..... THEY are the ones that changed the uniforms. Previous ones had the mesh underarms and behind, must have been a lot better for the players. They must have very sweaty and sticky asses now.... only God knows what will happen come July and August

The '83 team not only did not win a championship, they didn't even reach the World Series. It was fine when they brought those uniforms back for the 30th anniversary in 2013 but to continue to wear them for another ten seasons was overkill. If the Sox wants to honor an historical team more worthy of celebrating (and who also had great uniforms), then make the 1917 throwbacks the new Sunday home alt: 5
