Brave-Bird 08
I gasped, that helmet is so good. It completely differentiates the alternate uniform from the rest of the set too, so I love that. Wonder if they would ever explore switching to that helmet decal on the primary helmet as well? It's just better. 13

Only thing that's new is the helmet. 3 Quote Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

But I've always thought the Ravens should double-down on the black and purple rather than incorporate MORE gold. In my mind, the Vikings are the purple-and-gold team, though here lately they're starting to become a purple and white team with traces of gold. In the Vikings mind, they are the purple and "ice" team now -- so couldn't be a more opportune time for Baltimore to step in and own that color combo. Plus, big difference between the way Baltimore's gold plays here and Minnesota's gold plays on their uniforms, as well as how much black is mixed in. I honestly never think of those two brands as having significant crossover.

YelichGraphics
I never understood the Vikings comparison, like yes the two teams have "similar" color schemes but they are very different. I would compare the new helmet to the AAF Atlanta Legends before I would compare them to the Vikings. Its like comparing the Vegas Golden Knights and Penguins, because they both use some variety of a "gold" and "black"
GhostOfNormMacdonald
The Raven's alt now looks more like the Vikings than the Vikings' alt. Seriously though, that is :censored:ing phenomenal. Maybe the best alt helmet that isn't a throwback? Genuinely great. Happy for you BaltiBros
GhostOfNormMacdonald
Now I wish the Vikings alt had metallic gold and had gold horns instead of the boring all white crap. We don't even play outside. Jeez

j'villejags
I think using the gold and white B from the primary logo would have looked awesome on this helmet. 4 Quote My NFL concept series (in progress) --ATL, CLE, NE, WAS done. AZ updated 04/21/23.
Bill0813
The new Ravens alternate should be their primary helmet. They won 2 SBs in the other one, but the forward facing raven looks better. I noticed last year they started adding that logo into some of their sideline gear. 5
SportsFan12
Wait, so a team actually REMOVED black from a uniform instead of adding more of it? I never thought I’d see the day. My thoughts and prayers are with the fire emoji community. This is perfectly fine alternate look, but I did think it was the Vikings Color Rush at first glance while scrolling. I do think of the Ravens as a black and purple team and the Vikings as a purple and yellow/gold team. Now the question becomes, does this take up one of their three alternate slots or will they inexplicably still be able to wear their black alternates three times as usual? 6
FiddySicks
Ooh, yeah, I like that purple lid a LOT. I even like the front facing bird, and am now curious to see how it would look on the black helmet as well. It would have to be better than the bird head they currently use where they have to awkwardly swap the B logo on each side. 6 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) When I was a kid, I had a copy of a paperback book published by the NFL around 1976 that was packed with stats and team info. The entry for my Vikings team noted that the team colors were "purple and white, with gold trim". I've never forgotten that description, and I've always thought that it accurately pointed out that the Vikings don't wear yellow/gold to the same extent that the Packers do, and they don't wear purple and yellow/gold in the same proportions as, say, LSU. It's not enough to merely list the colors included in their uniforms; the proportions of those colors matter too, in the same way a red-with-blue team is different from a blue-with-red team. For me, the Vikings are purple and white, with a little bit of gold. That's one reason I don't care for their color rush getup--too much yellow/gold. 5
mcrosby
If they're going to go with the front facing logo, maybe try the 2013/14 UConn route: 2 1 4 5 1 Quote https://twitter.com/OutOfThisWC
8BW14
I guess I’ll be the guy to say he doesn’t like it. Sure it’s a sharp helmet and yeah it makes for a very nice mono-purple look. It’s not the Ravens though. Purple and black is their thing. Alternates like this in the NFL only serve to dilute what are generally very strong brands. It has the same vibe as the Lions black and blue alt; sure it looks really cool, but why do we need it? 9 2

j'villejags
Still would love something like this as the primary lid. I think they could pull off a purple/black iridescent look too if they borrow the idea from Oregon. Someone posted a concept here years ago with some purple iridescence and it looked amazing. 12 5 Quote My NFL concept series (in progress) --ATL, CLE, NE, WAS done. AZ updated 04/21/23. I've always felt the ravens don't need those helmet stripes and I still feel that way about this helmet. I don't dislike the front angle raven head, but also I can't not see Mel Kiper Jr. every time I see it. Overall, it's okay but I do like them going outside the box.
