They look too much like everybosy else, borrowing too many elements. No true identity. I do like the wordmark, just not sure about it being the actual logo. That has been the main discussion, but didn't see if anyone had posted an image like that. If they did that and used the webbed D for the crest, I think a ton more people would like it as compared the the current penguin look a like. Let's see, in the NHL, 2 teams use for their mascots birds that love to be in water and both of them are black and gold. Can you imagine a Finals with these two teams playing each other?In the NFL you have the Lions and Panthers that use blue black and silver, but then again there also is the Jags with a quite different scheme. Maybe ill change my mind, but i doubt it. My gosh they are hideous! WHAT'S WITH THE FRIGGIN' BLACK! Little by little every team is going to be black. Why does everyone want to be black? This is insane? How about GREY!? Is there anyone who is grey? NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Okay the Sabres HAVE grey in their colors but that's it. Someone be a grey team instead of black. I give the script logo on the jerseys 5 years at best before it gets tossed from the crest. spartacat_12 Posted June 29, 2006 Share Posted June 29, 2006 when i saw the ducks new logo i was thinking what the hell!?! this is worse than the logo on their 3rd jersey which isnt very good anyway. if you have a team named the ducks you can come up with so many cool logos other than the team name. and i thought they were going to use more colour. when i think of a duck i think of green and purple and orange, not black and gold. i'd like to hear some other opinions. p&t Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I guess the color palette is pretty original, if the black was substituted w/ a dark green, but beyond that its lacking.Pretty funny, when I first saw the logo w/ the webbed "D", I remembered a sketch I did back in high school during class...no joke, nearly identical in concept, I was just playing with shapes and it worked out, merging the letter w/ the icon of the webbed foot....of course, I had the "D" logo as the shoulder patch w/ an actual duck rendering as the crest and didnt even use the "D/web" as the first letter in the wordmark, but I was just fooling around...wish I still had that notebook www.skyedesignstudios.com Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
