Columbus who was 7-9 this season has already upset Tampa Bay, Dallas who was 15-1 and now Georgia who were 14-2, so now they are headed to the Arena Bowl XXI who they will face either Chicago or San Jose both former champions

The Rush stop the SabreCats after D'Orazio gave up an opening drive interception. That was a big cheap shot when the SabreCats player blocked D'Orazio after the pick. He was just looking to see what happened and got nailed, luckily he didn't get hurt, he's already nursing a bad back.

(1) It'll be San Jose.

(2) Not that Columbus doesn't make a great story (it does), but I think pro sports leagues need to implement a rule requiring its teams to be at least .500 in the regular season to qualify for the playoffs. Having a 7-9 season, frankly, shouldn't qualify you for anything.

(3) (1) and (2) above being said, I'll nonetheless be rooting for the Destroyers. San Jose has had its AFL titles, and Columbus is a city worthy of having its first pro championship.

.... or at least it will make up for the Ohio State losses to Florida in football and basketball in a small way ^_^

I saw, I came, I left.

That's what happens when you let 12 out of 19 teams into the playoffs.

I'm less opposed to tightening up the playoffs, though, because there is a school of thought that says its good for lesser leagues that are gate driven to have more playoff spots to keep the fans interested and coming to games.

I too will be rooting for Columbus, because they have good, loyal fans (insane...but still good fans.)

Looks like Arena Bowl XXI has been decided. It will pit the National Conference Champions, the Columbus Destroyers and the American Conference Champions, the San Jose Sabercats.

As a Tampa Bay Storm fan, I have to give the Destroyers credit for taking down the top 3 teams in their conference, so I will be rooting for Columbus.

Go Destroyers! They are a great story, just like the Rush last year. I'll be cheering for Columbus to take down the team that beat the Rush.

And for those who may forget / not remember, the Rush won the ArenaBowl last year after finishing the season -- you guessed it -- at 7-9.

I like Chicago, but it'll be a helluva game.

Hell yeah, Cats in another final. I went to my first Arena game this season when the SabreCats played the Utah Blaze at the Tank. So to all you haters out there, GO SABRECATS!!!!! :P

Bummer it isn't vs Tampa Bay though.

You do realize San Jose beat Chicago yesterday?

I'm going for San Jose. Nothing against Columbus, who has done a far more impressive run then Chicago a year ago (The Rush were a five seed in the National Conference while the Destroyers barely squeaked in as a six seed), but the Sabrecats are the far better team in this game.

Either way, New Orleans faithful are going to enjoy this ride. :D
