epper
Taking off from the "places you'd like to go", I'd love to see all the sporting areas/stadiums/fields/tracks you've been to. Let's see who's the most well traveled!MLB:Rogers Centre- My home field. Many say it's already an outdated, cold, warehouse, but to me it's one of the most unique parks in baseball. Still love it. Cleveland Municipal Stadium- A total dump when I saw the Jays play the Indians in 1992. Glad they tore it down and built...Jacobs Field- Very, very nice park. Busch Stadium II- A '70s cookie cutter park, but the fans and the atmosphere were great. I'd love to go back to see the new park.Oakland Coliseum- Now talk about a cold ballpark....I was there in the mid 90's when Mount Davis was being built. Not a nice park to look at or watch a baseball game.NFL:Ralph Wilson Stadium- Very generic, but it's the tailgating that makes this place. Before the game its beer and bbq's as far as the eye can see. Wouldn't mind if the Bills built a new stadium closer to downtown or the waterfront, but with Buffalo's current economic state, I highly doubt it will happen. Just don't move them to Toronto!NHL:HSBC Arena- A very nice arena when I was there in the late '90s. NBA:Air Canada Centre- Great arena, easy to get to by transit (subway, train, streetcars all lead into the arena). Not a bad seat in the house. The Palace of Auburn Hills- Just as nice as the ACC even though it's 10 years older. Fans were incredible rowdy at the Raps/Pistons playoff game I attended. Would love to go back.Auto Racing:Daytona Int'l Speedway- Witnessed Dale Earnhardt's death live in person. Don't wish to ever go back.Indianapolis Motor Speedway- HUGE track. With all the infield grandstands and pagodas, it's hard to see the entire thing. But it's Indy. The grandaddy of them all. Great place.Bristol Motor Speedway- Possibly the most fun 4 hours you'll ever have at a race. 160,000+ packed into an oversized football stadium with a racetrack in the middle. If you don't like NASCAR, I gurantee you will have a new respect for it after a night at Bristol.Michigan Int'l Speedway- On the flip side of Bristol, Michigan is probably the most boring track on the circuit.Lowe's Motor Speedway- Great track, great fans, LONG race (600 miles!)Burke Lakefront Airport, Cleveland- A very unique roadcoarse in that you can see the entire track from your seat because it's so flat. Great place to watch an IndyCar race.

gingerbreadmann
MLBFenway Park: numerous times. My home park. It's such a great place and atmosphere, but I have never experienced a game anywhere else so I can't compareOriole Park: Went there on a trip in August, we arrived too late for the Sox game but I did walk around the next day. Beautiful, beautiful stadium. Purely based on design, Fenway seems like a dump compared to it.Nationals Park: Again, haven't seen a game but have walked around it 2 days later on the same trip. It also looks really nice but I don't like the are that it's in, tucked away at the edge of DC. Doesn't feel like a baseball 'village." Then again I live right near Fenway.NBAFleetCenter: I think 2003 or 4, the Celtics lost by 40 to the Pacers in the playoffs. It was alright, pretty cool to see an NBA game and the seats were comfy but it wasn't special and I'd like to go back again.NHLFleetCenter: This was in I think 1998 or so, I was pretty young and I can't remember much but I got to skate on the ice before the game, Johnny Bucyk and another legend were there signing autographs (obviously I was too young for that to be significant for me), and the Bruins won. It's the same place as the NBA FleetCenter, I can't remember much but I wish I was a bit older to appreciate it more.MLSGillette Stadium: 3 degrees out, raining cats and dogs, and hailing peas. Typical weather. I was able to get past it and my chewy pretzel turning to ice because it was pretty cool to see a live soccer game, and they won. I can only imagine seeing a Pats game.NCAABConte Forum: Probably about 25 times for mostly women's games but any time I get to see BC basketball it's great. It's small though, and I wish there was more character. Fun times though.Walter Brown Arena: BU Basketball sucks, and they lost, but back in 2002 it was fun cause my team played on the court at halftime. Tiny, lifeless place, but I found a nice T-Shirt in the stands that's still too big for me.NCAAFAlumni Stadium: Right next to Conte Forum and almost literally right down the street, I have only been here twice or 3 times but I love BC football. One time they destroyed Navy, another they beat UConn and the other, of course I had front-row seats, was the heart-crushing AWFUL loss to Syracuse in 2004 where they would have gone to the Fiesta Bowl if they had won. I still have a grudge toward f'ing Diamond Ferri. Metal benches aren't great and we need more crowd involvement but hey, it's BC football and I really, really need to go back.NCAAHConte Forum: I hit up my first College Hockey game this past January. Getting throttled by UMass-Lowell is never fun but having not seen live hockey in 10 years it brought back some of the love I lost for hockey in that span. There's nothing like it. It was amazing, and of course they went on to win the championship. Not the greatest stadium, but it was awesome.Honorable MentionAgganis Arena: I saw the FIRST Robotics competition there in 2006, and I was really impressed by the robots and the arena. I must go to a BU-BC game there sometime and I hope BC follows this lead. Nickerson Field: Saw the Breakers there once. They tied. Nothing special. Tiny.Conte Forum: How about the Ringling Bros. Circus, anyone? I had never seen the circus before and it was pretty cool, even from the far upper deck.I have also seen the Carrier Dome from literally right outside, it wasn't open, and the Louisiana Superdome from the road. Seadragon76
NFL:Kingdome (Seattle) - Went to a preseason game against the 49ers when I was a kid. It's loud, cavernous and horrible. By the time halftime came around, my father and I left cause it was a beatdown.MLB:Tiger Stadium (Detroit) - Saw the Tigers play Kansas City. It's a nice old place and I'm sad to hear it'll be torn down. Rogers Centre (Toronto) - Toured itNCAA Hockey:Omaha Civic Auditorium (Omaha) - Saw a UNO Mavericks game two years ago at the Auditorium with my younger brother. A lot of fun to watch as well.
