I saw Starlin Castro "steal home" this past season (broke for home and a passed ball got by the Philly catcher, thus it's a steal of home).

That dude is FAST. I will always remember being at the 2009 Florida State League All Star Game and seeing him hit an inside the park HR. The whole crowd went NUTS!

Damn. I mean he didn't actually steal home, but he got credit for stealing home. LOL

Probably a toss-up between the 2002 SEC Championship (Georgia vs. Arkansas) or the 2008 NHL All-Star Game (and Skills Competiton)....

I've been to every playoff game ever staged in Philips Arena (Hawks, Thrashers, and Georgia Force.....the Atlanta Dream doesn't count. Women's sports aren't real.), three Braves playoff games, and the Falcons/Eagles season-opening MNF game the season after they met in the NFC Championship Game.

- 2010 Frozen Four in Detroit. Awesome experience. Plus, I met Chris Chelios and Johnny Damon at a Wisconsin party at Cheli's Chili.

- Although they lost, this year's home opener for the Lions was awesome. I met Herman Moore before the game. I'm hoping to get to a Lions game next year too.

- I was at opening day in 2009 to see the Phillies' world seried banner go up. Pretty cool, even for an Angels fan.

- I've been to 2 or 3 Calder Cup finals games in Hershey, although none were clinching games.

I just remembered that I also saw Jim Thome hit his 400th HR. Griffey could've hit his 500th the same game, but he decided to sit the whole series to hit it in Cincy.

I also saw Luke Scott hit for the cycle in Baltimore. I might've seen Felix Pie do it, too, come to think of it. I saw K-Rod give up a 9th inning grand slam twice to the Orioles. The Angels still won both games, strangely enough.

Wrestlemania 8 bitches.

Well, if we're going that route, I'll throw in SummerSlam 2009, which featured the Jeff Hardy swanton onto CM Punk and the announce table.

I went to Unforgiven one year...it was pretty awful. Shane McMahon vs. Kane was one of the main events. Shane did jump off the entrance through the stage. It was blatantly obvious the stage was built specifically for a Shane-O-Splat, but pretty cool to see.

MLB:

2010 World Series Game 1. Giants came out looking awful, then their bats exploded and they won 11-7.

2007 Bonds 755th home run. Someone gave us tickets at the last minute and he hit it only a minute or two after we got seated. Can't even remember who won.

2004 All Star game and Home Run Derby

2005 AAA All Star Game.

I missed Both Jonathan Sanchez's no hitter and Nick Adenhart's final game by one day.

NFL:

2003 49ers came back from down 38-14 to beat the Giants. By far the best football game I've ever been to.

MLS:

Went to David Beckham's first ever MLS game vs Chelsea. He didn't start, but the stadium went nuts when he came in. Chelsea won 1-0.

NCAA FB:

2010 Boise State Nevada. Nevada came back from down big and stunned undefeated Boise. I rushed the field, tackled Colin Kapernick, then nearly got knocked out by a coach after the final field goal.

I'm tired and I'm sure I'm missing some, but I'll add more later.

I have been to a few AFL (Aussie rules) games but none of them a really notable. I have been a member (season-ticket holder) of the western force since the inagural super 14 season in 2006 and have been to couple of notable games:

9th March 2007, Force vs. Hurricanes: Was our first home win ever, amazing finish! Watch the finish here:

2nd April 2010, Force vs. Stormers: Won on a final second drop-goal, watch:

My fantasy teams: West Coast Cardinals (WRU), Glasgow Claymores (RLI) (Champions 2012) and Pemberton Foresters (VBL)

Saints 19, Lions 17 on 11/08/1970. What's the big deal? This is the winning FG, from 63 yards out with two seconds left:

Dempsey-kick.jpg

Super Bowl VI in 1972, Cowboys 24, Dolphins 3.

Saints' first game in the Superdome, 1975 vs. the Oilers.

The '76 Pro Bowl, when Ray Guy of the Raiders hit the Superdome's hanging video screens with a punt.

The '85 Sugar Bowl, LSU lost to Nebraska 28-10.

Saints' first playoff win, 12/30/2000 over the Rams.

Saints return to the Superdome on MNF in 2006.

OU 65, #2 Texas Tech 21, Nov. 2008. Fantastic day in Norman, OK, starting off with going to ESPN Gameday, lunch near campus, the OU football museum with my wife (OU alum), then the game that night. Unforgettable.

And the one that got away. On May 18, 2004, I was working at Delta Air Lines and a colleague sent an e-mail around saying he had free tickets for the Braves game that night. I had a date, but she would've been cool with going to the game. After thinking it over, I decided we'd stick with dinner and a movie. In retrospect, a very poor decision.

Not a huge game by any means, but the most memorable for sure ...

First, some background: Bud Grant retired from coaching the Vikings after the 1983 season. He was replaced by offensive coordinator Les Steckel; the players basically refused to play for the guy and the team went 3-13 in 1984. Steckel was axed and Grant was talked into returning for the 1985 season.

For Grant's first game back, the '85 opener was at the Metrodome against the powerhouse 49ers, who had beaten Miami in Super Bowl XIX the previous year. With Joe Montana, Roger Craig, Jerry Rice, etc., on the team, everyone expected an easy win by San Francisco.

The Vikings played tough, though. The defense forced seven fumbles (recovering five of them), picked Montana off twice, and held the Niners to a 7-7 tie after the third. The game went completely bonkers in the 4th -- Minnesota outscored San Francisco 21-14 to win 28-21.

I've never had more fun at any game in my life.

I find it pretty disheartening that I have never really witnessed anything meaningful to brag about. I've been to events that mean a lot to me (Winthrop upsetting Notre Dame in the 2007 NCAA tourney, Winthrop winning 4 conference championships, every Panthers-49ers game ever held in Charlotte) and I've done a lot of cool stuff (mascoted in the 2008 NCAA tourney, led the Carolina Panthers onto the field in Week 1 as a flag runner in 2009).

No real, notable "wow, I was there" events. Random NBA games here and there, close to 30 Carolina Panthers games, some Nascar races, and a smattering of other random stuff...but nothing anyone would care to hear about. (But hey, you asked.)

I almost forgot,I went the Marlins and Braves game in 2009 at Turner Field. My favorite player Hanley Ramirez hit a homer. The game was delayed for 2 hoursby rain, then when they began play again,we sat by the Marlins dugout.Adam Laroche hit what was going to be a double down the right field line,Cody Ross chuck the ball to Hanley at second. He tagged out Laroche and we won the game.Oh and before the game,my then favorite player Dan Uggla wouldn't sign my ball,I was so fricken pissed at him,I told him I was his biggest fan,he was my fav. player, etc. But he wouldn't,so after seeing Hanley hit a home run,he became my fav. player.
