The AL Central is literally upside down. See here.

And the Cubs are beating the best team in the MLB, record wise, by 7. Soriano looks good; 5 HRs already and he only needs a triple for the cycle in this game (like that'll happen). If Soriano puts up the numbers he put up in Washington, the Cubs could contend for the wild card.

Today's Phillies / Marlins rain-out means that barring another rain-out, or them skipping Fat Joe's start, my next game will be my third Halladay start of the year - which in the grand scheme of things is pretty awesome, but I was psyched to see Cliff Lee live for the first time since '09.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was looking at the standings a little while ago. KC isn't off the charts shocking but the Indians? After their first two games I would have bet that the Tribe would be lucky to win 60 games this season. It's still really early but they're already playing way better than I think anyone expected. Will the Central remain "upside down?" I'd doubt it, but it would sure be great if it did.

Soriano is what he is at this point, another guy who probably lied about his age and did lots of steroids, and is now so far along the back nine that he can't do anything but tee off on backenders' fastballs. If the Cubs contend for the division, it'll be through attrition rather than any sort of overachievement on their part. As constructed, they can top out at 84 wins; the extent to which the other five teams (well, four; the Astros can't hit 70) cannot is largely out of the Cubs' hands.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Mets have been swept in double-headers twice this week. That's all.

Flawless victory?

Today's Phillies / Marlins rain-out means that barring another rain-out, or them skipping Fat Joe's start, my next game will be my third Halladay start of the year - which in the grand scheme of things is pretty awesome, but I was psyched to see Cliff Lee live for the first time since '09.

Thanks to Saturday's rainout, I got to see Hamels/Sanchez rather than Blanton/Volstad today. Since when did they raise parking prices to $15?

Not sure... since I don't drive. Should be able to park for free in FDR Park though. They sometimes have people asking for money, but if you tell them you're there for a valid public use of the park, they have to let you through.

I've parked there a few times before....we were kind of cutting it close to game time today (thanks to my friends meeting us in West Chester an hour later than expected), so we just parked in the stadium lot.

$15? The Giants raised their parking prices to, I :censored: you not, $50 a game!

Although, that's more of a way to tell people how stupid it is to drive into the city and try to park rather than purchasing a 5-10 dollar BART ticket.

Supply / Demand. CBP is pretty much in a sea of nothing but parking spaces. Philadelphia has always had very reasonable (relatively speaking) parking prices for sports. Even cheaper than far smaller cities. One of the issues is that there is nowhere good to "park and ride" if you're coming from the suburbs or outside of the city grid. I'm right in Center City and have the super-mega-delux-go-anywhere-the-fvck-you-want-to-go monthy trans pass so I just take a trolly or bus to the subway and I'm there.

Edinson Volquez is extremely annoying. The guy has to pitch from a hole because he's always giving away big leads in the first inning. At one point today the stat read that he had given up 15 runs on the season, 13 of them were from the first inning. The Reds offense has covered his ass in every other outing, but today they weren't able to and in the future they won't always be able to.

Also, the bullpen is not looking good. It could become a serious problem the further we go through this season.
