Should I spend my "Notre Lame" line now, or wait till it's 21-0? Because at the rate things are going for the Irish it'll be in about five minutes.

Wow. These Reagan refs with the horrible fair-catch interference BS.

Southerners: this is why America hates you and wants you to secede.

There are much more subtle ways to express this sentiment. I think I did a nice job up above. "Reagan refs" could have worked on its own -- kinda -- but your next sentence is too over the top.

It's generally okay to gently mock the American South on this board, but you can't be so obvious about it.

Being both a Catholic and someone who wants the SEC's reign to end tonight, the BS calls ND is getting is so blatant and horrendous. And sometimes, it shows in my posts. It's basically my venting place, rather than punching a wall or swinging my aluminum bat at my TV.

And I'm pretty sure that somewhere in America, when the fair catch-intereference call was upheld, the conference-nutting morons were all "SEC SEC SEC!!!"

S EEEEEEEEE C!!!

I don't think this proves that the SEC is great, it just proves that Alabama is a dynasty, and Johnny Football is REALLY good.

Why you make fun of me? I make concept for Auburn champions and you make fun of me. I cry tears.
Chopping off the dicks of Filipino boys and embracing causes that promote bigotry =/= strong moral character.

I still never thought I'd ever see Notre Dame in a national championship in my lifetime, mainly due to their admissions standards, so I'll guess I'll just try to enjoy this as best I can.

BTW, a big :censored: YOU to Mark Richt for that clock management disaster that enabled Alabama to get into the National Championship Game in the first place.

This would be a much better game if it were Georgia-Notre Dame.

Really? I think Georgia would be torching ND just as badly.

Even so, and bear in mind I say this as a fan of Georgia's chief rival, them winning the NCG would be SO MUCH BETTER than seeing Alabama winning once again.

It would piss off the anti-SEC crowd, but I can't think it would anywhere near as bad as what tonight has brought, and will continue to bring.

It wasn't a clock-management issue. Even if Murray did clock the ball, that doesn't change the fact that Alabama's D-lineman "made a play" by tipping the ball, and Georgia's WR did what comes natural to a receiver....catching the ball.....and then slipping on the turf before he could run to the end zone or out-of-bounds.

Going for it on 4th and 5 at midfield early in the 2nd quarter and you throw a bomb? Notre Dame is just joking around now.

I'm not blaming the natural instinct of Chris Conley in the least for catching the ball. I take a very simple mathematical POV from that situation:

Clock the ball, and have two plays (minimum) to run to try and score a touchdown, with a set play call and fresh units on the field

OR

Run to the line, tired units (granted, on both sides), and run a play on a whim, with the distinct possibility it will be the only play you get off

There are pros and cons to both. If I have Aaron Murray as my quarterback, however, I'm trusting him to get the ball in the endzone if he has two plays to do it in, with a playcall that he's comfortable with. And that's because Aaron Murray is one of the best quarterbacks in the NCAA.

This is what I want to take away from this game: Alabama is a great football team, repeat Alabama, not the entire SEC. No problem with the players, or even Nick Saban (who apparently has some beef with some of you posters)...but the thing that I despise is the continuation of the conference bandwagon. I'd take the legit "roll tide" declarations in honesty, rather than the bandwagon "SEC SEC SEC!!!" chants I wanna piss all over for.
