Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Really, there was nobody else for nr 98?

Nope. That's it. Brian Lawton in 84-85.

Interesting that no one has ever worn #95

There's a few, but not many. Sergei Berezin already wore #95 while playing for the Habs.

There is no number from 1 to 99 that's never been worn.

Agreed. The Flames are one of the few teams where the infusion of BFBS actually worked. It helps create some contrast. I would rather they just Edge-ify the look they wore to the 2004 Cup Finals. That was, snot horse excluded, a perfect look.

I must be the only person who liked the Flames' horse logo. As a main crest it was silly, but as a shoulder patch I thought it complimented the identity and fit in with the city of Calgary.

It has no mane. That's the one thing about it that bugs me.

I agree--I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't like it until it struck me that it was a bald horse with flaming snot.

They're far better off without it.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

It was a fan shoulder logo. I thought it was quite obvious, it was breathing fire, and did NOT have a sinus infection that caused firey snot :P

The Sens just released their online brochure for next season and it is very "O"-centric.

Personally I hope it is a sign of things to come, but maybe their just trying to sell more of the third jerseys.

As long as Scotiabank is a major sponsor of the team I'm pretty sure you can be certain the home jerseys will stay red. Having said that, the reds and whites could sure use a massive overhaul.

I don't think the red has anything to do with Scotiabank. Scotiabank doesn't own the team.

They have the naming rights to the arena and do a lot of marketing/event sponsoring with the team. As their main colour is red, don't count on the Sens switching to black full-time any time soon. It would make the whole "Be Red" campaign meaningless. Marketing departments take this stuff seriously.

Well yes, the concept of a fire horse is perfect for the Calgary Flames. The problem with the design they went with was, again, that it didn't have a mane. It was bald.

Well marketing departments also take sales and fan reception seriously too. The heritage jersey has been almost universally liked by Sens fans and you can already see tons of them at games. It's not like they would be eliminating red from the colour scheme entirely. If Senators management decides that they want a more traditional identity Scotiabank will have to sign on. Remember that they also sponsor the Flames so there is still plenty of red.

Agreed, this is the best look the Senators have ever had. The heritage jersey is nice on special occasions but the logo isn't strong enough to be the team's primary mark. It's just a Times New Roman "O."

Eww, NO! The version right before this without the white is far superior!!! The dark jersey is so dark and ominous!!!

The all black look seems too flat. I'm with Nash and others, the black white and red look was amazing.

yeah. that yashin pic the epitome of awesomeness for ottawa. best jersey in team history, and probably one of the best jerseys of the entire era.

Since the black, white & red jerseys with the black sleeve numbers were only around for about 2-3 years, it is extremely difficult to find nowadays... even in Ottawa!

I had one when I was a teenager, but I have no idea what happened to it.
