Same shade during the entire silver/black/purple years:

I know, but compare those to the picture. The picture is a red base, while those are a blue base. Lighting doesn't change the base colour.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

ColorWerx, is this just the lighting, or did the Kings use a different purple? (game worn jersey from 98-99)

Woah! You think I'm Cody? My name is Carl Scott Simone and we just happen to share a birthday. BIG DEAL.

Hmmm...something tells me a "game-worn" jersey wouldn't have a "starter" tag on the hem, though. Probably a knockoff/poorly-made kiddy replica.

The Kings -- and a handful of other teams -- wore starter in 1998-99.

Sorry about that. I was under the impression that all teams used the same style for their authentics then.

That new 1 they use for the numbers are far superior to the old ones, I think.

The old one is far too top-heavy.

Hell that coloring looks closer to the Mighty Ducks' black/eggplant alternate than what the Kings actually wore.

Definitely the lighting, my dude.

I guess it just made me think of this regrettable tune:

From the Isle of Vancouver

To the Labrador Sea

One nation, glorious and free

Where I'm free to be me.

From the song of the Prairies

To the call of the pond

Heroes of times come and gone

Where the memories go on and on and on

Oh! Oh! Oh! This is Canada's song

Oh! Oh! Oh! Where my heart belongs

Free to be a dreamer

Free to be who you are

Free to believe in your star

Free to go far

Oh! Oh! Oh! That's Canada's dream (Go Leafs Go)

Oh! Oh! Oh! This is Canada's team (Go Leafs Go)

They are also Canada's most hated team(in Canada). Canucks are pretty hated in Boston, and Chicago right now...

No. Vancouver is Canada's most hated team. Hands down.

They're pretty high up on the hated list in the US too haha. Along with Boston. Nobody likes the Bruins outside of Massachusetts

You mean New England.

A lot of northern New England are Canadiens fans, as well.

People in Ottawa and Montreal have no ill will towards the Canucks(for the most part). In fact in those two cities it is close the religion to hate the Leafs.

They must hate the Leafs so much that they let the Leafs flood their barn during Sens-Leafs games... :P

People need to remember that there are still 2 generations of people in Ottawa that grew up without the Sens. And unless you had a French-Canadian background the Leafs were your team. Some people switched over but most have kept their Toronto allegiances (which I actually do respect, there's not much that bothers me more than people switching fanbases). As my generation (who have always had the Sens) grows up, gets high paying government jobs, has families, and starts buying season tickets you'll start to see less and less Leaf fans (and Habs fans for that matter) in Scotiabank Place.

True. The Sens didn't start playing until I was 18. But I wasn't either a Habs or Leafs fan before that. When I was a kid I was all about the Bruins. I think I picked that up from my dad. It was hard though, because back then you could only watch hockey on Saturday night and you only had the choice of the Leafs vs. someone or the Habs vs. someone.

Actually, I find that song very catchy. Makes me want to root for the team, until I see them play.

Fun fact: The Leafs did not win a game this season when this song was played.
