If Nik Rabinowitz' bit about South African sports commentary from Mock the Week is anything to go by, I bet watching sports with an Afrikaans commentator would be hilarious.

I liked the pacing of the parade of nations, nice and fast.

The cauldron lighting was a bit diasppointing.

I would think its more of an oversight then anything else, but regardless of the reason pretty big error on the part of NBC I'd say.

Hey, everyone, if you don't like NBC showing things on tape delay, don't watch it on their {one and a half minute tape delayed) online feed either. NBC still makes $$$ from people watching it online. Watch it illegally online somewhere, it's all out there. I don't care if I have to watch in Afrikaans or whatever I was listening in, at least I got to see it live as opposed to a minute and a half behind like the NBC feed was.

Endorsing illegal activity? I thought the counterfeit jersey thread was where to go for that.

The minute and a half tape delay for the online feed doesn't bother me; what pisses me off is the spoilers on NBC's website. Yahoo in their link to for information on the race Phelps and Lochte are in have a spoiler alert, but NBC does not.

Something that I just realized about this years olympics that's pretty cool is that Holley Mangold, the first female non kicker to ever play in an Ohio State 3A high school football game and who is the younger sister of Jets center Nick Mangold, is competing in weightlifting.

She was on an episode of MTV's "True Life" where cameras followed her as she trained. Nick Mangold was on the show and he came off as kind of a dick to her. It was a little disappointing.
