2013 MLB Logo and Uniform Changes

Mets going with orange-billed interlocking-NY hats this afternoon with Gee on the mound. It's jarring but I don't dislike it.

I can't figure out how to copy/paste image URLs on an iPad but you can see it here.

Here you go. Not a terrible look, but it's worse than the regular cap. Considering that and the Mets' history, this cap should be left to fashion/BP status.

Its time to completely ditch the Rockies' font and move on to something else; maybe something in block letters, or script, or just anything that doesn't have serifs. This look simply doesn't work no matter what color you use.

I think a serif font can still work, just not the one they're using. Maybe something more like this:

I like some of the ideas you are going for here, but its still way off for my liking. I really think if there is any team in baseball that could benefit from a much simpler treatment it would be the Rockies.

So the Rockies are wearing special patches for their 20th anniversary. Since they only sell blanks with the new patch, I had to buy two from MLB.com and get them sewn on. It looks good I think, but it bugs me that the two purples are different.

I would like that Mets cap a whole lot better with a blue bill.

So their primary cap? But with a pointless and unnecessary white outline?

Yes. Exactly like that. Just for when they wear the white jersey. I don't mind the orange bill with the alt blue jersey.

So much for the one-helmet rule: Lukas got an answer from the A's equipment manager. He said that he knew of no such rule. So there you go. Maybe Cleveland just wanted to use one helmet and tried to say MLB is dictating it.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

I got my Giants 2013 World Series ring ceremony cap today, and while its really similar to the 2010 version there are some minor differences I wanted to point out.

The front logo is exactly the same as the 2010 cap

The World Series logo is a bit different than it was on the actual 2012 World Series game caps. They swapped the colors up a bit, and traded out all of the red elements in the logo for gold, and all of the blue elements for black. It's a nice touch and I'm happy they didn't just slap the same patch on the side of the cap. It is a bit jarring in comparison and looks a bit washed out. It's definitely not as vibrant as the game caps were despite the large use of gold.

Here's a look at it in comparison to the actual game caps.

The rear logo is a bit different as well. The cap on top is the 2013 version, with the gold and black batterman, while the cap on the bottom is the 2011 cap with just the gold logo on the batterman. It does make me wonder if they added the gold outline at the last second to the 2011 version

Yeah the Cardinals said that they ordered a new set of blue helmets for this season, so that must have been bs

...

Probably a thread-to-fabric matching issue. Certainly the intent was for a match:

wow those black marlins jerseys are a disaster. a tragedy really.

Given how colorful their logos were post-rebrand, I'll never understand why the Marlins insist on using so much black on the jerseys and the hats. Seems a waste.

Because the Marlins are a terrible organization and everything they do is wrong.

I think that there are baseball fans in Toronto who would disagree with you. :upside:
