A full commitment's what the Blues were thinking of.

Miller's 33. 13 plus 33 is 46. He's gonna be 46 when his contract runs out. Good Lord, STL.

They're no strangers to love.

They know the rules. And so do I.

This might be the end of players going to the World Championships

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/10950905/alex-ovechkin-suffers-apparent-leg-injury-ice-hockey-worlds

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin suffered an apparent leg injury on Sunday at the ice hockey world championship.

Ovechkin was taken to the hospital, Russian coach Oleg Znarok said after the game. Ovechkin appeared to sustain the injury to his right leg in the third period of Russia's 3-0 win over Germany. He required assistance off the ice and Znarok said he could not "share any information now" about the injury.

"We are aware that Alex Ovechkin sustained an injury during today's game versus Germany," the Capitals said in a statement. "Our medical staff is working with Ovechkin and Team Russia to gather additional information at this time."

Ovechkin collided with forward Marcus Kink midway through the third period and stayed on the ice for several minutes before he needed assistance to leave the ice. He struggled to put weight on his right leg and did not return to the game.

Bold Prediction: Connor McDavid will be wearing red, white, and blue next year in DC.

Maybe that's what Caps fans should be hoping. It'd be like when David Robinson got injured, allowing the Spurs to bottom out and draft Tim Duncan. McDavid and Ovi would be a pretty lethal combination.

Blues ink Elliot, 3 years/$7.5M

Dici bye-bye, Miller!

Yeah so about that...

Blues ink Ryan Miller to 13-year, $480 million deal. Jesus Christ.

This is worse than the luongo deal

Another goalie controversy. Great. I think we know what will happen..................

I've heard Miller's contract is heavily front loaded so he'll be able to attend as many Rick Astley concerts as he wants after the Blues buy him out.

the Blues are never gonna give him up. Miller better never let them down, or else St. Louis will run around and desert him.
Wow. I knew I shouldn't have clicked on that link.

Dammit, CS85, you just told a lie and hurt me. :(

I know next year's draft is supposedly better, but they're probably expecting to be 10 spots higher than they are this year... will it really be THAT much deeper next year?

I'm still really confused about the story of how Halak wound up on Long Island Brooklyn. It must suck when you realize that you became a pawn of the Buffalo Sabres, no matter how good you are.

However higher they pick next season, the draft pool seems to tail off this year after the fourth pick, when the Isles have the 5th spot. However there does seem to be some good European talent from William Nylander and Kevin Fiala, they could potentially get a decent player out of some of those guys.

Regardless of the depth of either draft class, the Islanders had to make this move.

It's basically a sign of "we won't be trying to win next season" if they retain the 2015 pick. It's bad PR and it won't help them sell tickets....or hope....for next season.
