I just noticed there's an orange stripe in the rainbow stripes on the uniform, but there's no orange stripe in the rainbow on the helmet. That's going to really bother me.
i dont see how that could possibly bother somebody

Does it then also bother you that the stripes in the logo are completely individual, don't touch AND are outlined in black as well?

No that doesn't bother me. The rainbow on the helmet is small and the individual colors would blend together without the black outline separating them.

That Hawaii uniform is fantastic, especially compared to some of the crap we've seen over the past few years. Debating the lack of orange stripe and black outlines on the helmet logo kinda feels like splitting hairs at this point. Even for here.

I agree! Four rainbow stripes on the helmet and five stripes at every other rainbow location on the jersey seems odd. Regardless of the presentation of the rainbow colors on the helmet( separated and outlined ), there is no reason to not be consistent with the colors and order of the stripes. Although historically 5 stripes have been used so have 4, with white thrown in instead of green on some of the green jerseys. This isn't an issue of 1 white stripe on the helmet and 2 white stripes on the pants. With an inconsistency through Hawaii history, why not clean it up and be consistent?

The white version is 10x better than the green version because:

  • Green Facemask
  • Logo on helmet
  • No stripe on helmet

This current uniform and the one pictured above throw back to different times, so that's why their different.

The one above has a gray mask because it's referring to a helmet that had a gray mask. And, also because gray masks are awesome.

Here is the home version of the white aways discussed in this tread:

The stripes vs. logo thing bothers me only because the other four colors are present in both. I understand it might be too cluttered to have five colors coming off the letters (with outlines and spacing), but with what they did, it looks like they intentionally decided to lose the orange from the logo for some reason. I don't think it would have been as bad if they also removed the green stripe. If they really didn't want to add orange into the logo, they should have taken it off the stripes.

Okay seriously, why does Hawaii keep busting out black & grey primaries?? They have both home AND away throwbacks that LOOK like Hawaii? Those gorgeous photos of matchups w SDSU & UNLV leave me wanting so much more out of the mountain west. Considering neither 3 look like that anymore, very disappointing

Yeah the MW used to have some great looks.

CSU still has a great helmet but their jerseys are off.
