WavePunter
Cincinnati finally added their conference patch, but my gosh, it's the worst placement possible. I think it's a function of the way Under Armour places logos on their new template. Auburn has the same problem:I'm not sure why more Under Armour schools don't request the template that Under Armour provides for Towson:That's an older template called the warrior template I believe.. The biggest issue in my mind isn't the template, but rather just the patch location.. I'm not sure if they're afraid to put the patch on a seam or what, but cramming it in awkwardly between the collar and wordmark is almost inexcusable

The idea of bringing in a splash of a third color is what makes the lighter blue helmet work perfectly here. It's why the latest fades in college football today (grey, black, chrome) aren't working... they are too much and compete with the look. It's why Texas with their chrome decals on the helmets or Notre Dame with their HGI helmets work, it's just a little bit. That's why the lighter blue works as a helmet for Ole Miss. frosty06306
I'm not sure if it's been shown otb before, but Jacoby Brissett wore the Adidas Primeknit uni last night with normal length sleeves. This was the first time he's done it, is this a new option, or has this been available to players before?

WavePunter
I've always agreed that every uniform element doesn't need every color, just like it doesn't need every logo and every wordmark.. I like that the giants'jerseys each only use two colors.. There's a lot of love here for the 49ers uniforms, which is the same thing.. I think you hit the nail on the head - the entire uniform should work together to accomplish the goal, not have each element stand alone as a complete representation of the identity.. When the whole thing comes together, you get a thing of beauty. When each piece stands alone, you get a busy/cluttered mess when you put it together. I think we need to take a step back and go back a few decades and stop friggin' nitpicking every element on a uniform. I get that this is a uniform and logo board, but I think people are just looking for everything wrong on uniforms and not just enoying the games. I guarentee few people thought when Ole Miss had the lighter blue said, "Oh My Gosh those should match." If it's not over the top stupid like Fresno State last night, just watch the game. I think the uniforms have taken away the most important part of college football, the game. There's nothing wrong with Mississippi's uniforms, no they don't match, but they also don't call attention to themselves and are trying to be cool and looking stupid at the same time... Fresno State. Fresno State. For the most part, I agree. Matching elements are pleasing to the eye and help to tighten a uniform's overall look. But if everyone was following the same standards (which is more and more the case as time goes on) it would kind of dilute the league and sort of become stale. I think that's happened in the NFL a bit with a single manufacturer making every teams uniforms and sideline gear. And even the stupid looking getups in college are fine with me because they usually are such a contrast to some of the more traditional teams.I kinda like seeing classic Nike looks vs incredibly ridiculous Adidas one game alts. It adds a little bit of charm to the whole thing. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) j'villejags
I do think the helmet looks much better with the home jersey. I'm not on board with the inconsistencies of navy vs. powder so I can't say that I was a fan of their uniform this weekend. However, the shade of blue is unique enough that they should consider permanently dropping navy from their identity in favor of it. It'd give them a distinctive (and potentially iconic) look. DR73SEN
Photo of Indiana's script helmets from the Western Kentucky game this week. Personally, I think this is a gorgeous look and should become the base set. Indiana's is one of most of the most beautiful scripts in college athletics and (as has been already been mentioned) goes a long way toward separating the identity from that of Oklahoma's, without resorting to gaudy stripes.
