Unocal
A triumvirate of Cueto/Volquez/Ventura is one win away from having as many titles as Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine. I guess great starting pitching doesn't guarantee anything in October.

NJTank
They are a giant pain in the ass. They are very good individually but as a whole they do everything right and just know how to win. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
FinsUp1214
This leads to a pretty interesting point in the series. The Mets are back to Harvey for Game 5 down 3-1; either Harvey-deGrom-Syndergaard revert back to buzzsaw status and pull this thing out (which is still very possible), or either one of those guys gets chipped away and this thing is over. Basically, things either get really interesting from here on out, or they end very quickly. Sounds like a Captain Obvious statement, but I mean to imply that even at 3-1, because of the rotation going back to the top, this series has a great chance of being far from over, though the odds are obviously and rightfully pretty stacked. As far as my gut feeling, I think the Mets win behind Harvey tomorrow, but the Royals take the whole enchilada at Kaufman in Game 6. My hunch is that Kansas City is too resilient to let this get to 7.
JerseyJimmy
As a Mets fan I absolutely hate this Royals team right now, which is kind of a shame, because as a baseball fan I want to love themThis. Not only that, but because of the annoying bandwagon fanbase that they acquired last year. If the Royals wanted to win the Series, they should've pulled it out when they hadn't made the playoffs in three decades. Now the magic's gone and they're just another villain.Anyway... if Collins is smart enough to realize CLIPPARD IS A FLAMING BAG OF VOMIT, then I think the Mets can actually pull it out in 7. Harvey and deGrom will have hopefully learned from their mistakes, and Syndergaard is still straight fire. And it's not like coming back from 3-1 is impossible, because it's happened four times - and y'know who one of those teams was, funnily enough? The Royals. FiddySicks
Ok so let's hop in a tme machine and go back to September of last year. Go back there and tell all of your baseball fan friends that in the next two post seasons, the AL rep was going to be within ONE win of two consecutive World Series championships. Now tell thse same friends that the particular AL team you're talking about isn't the Yankees, it's not the Red Sox, Tigers aren't that squad, , it's not even the Oakland A's. That team is the KANSAS CITY ROYALS. How many of those friends would not only laugh in your face, but try to get you comitted? Seriously (as long as this holds firm, which I think it will), the Royals are a Salvador Perez popout away from back to back titles. How crazy is that?!?! Just let that process for a minute. A team that's been damn near dog turds the majority of my life is doing this. If that's really the case, I firmly believe that ANYBODY can do it. Padres, Mariners, Brewers, Marlins, ect. Enough with the "small market" excuses or whatever. Those just went out the window. ANYBODY can win this stupid thing! No more excuses! Baseball, man. What a weird sport. The odd thing was that they were good in the regular season!I didn't follow much baseball this year outside of this thread because my team was so miserable. So I'd come here and based on Tank's posts about the Mets I figured they were in their usual 3rd/4th position in the East. I checked the standings with about a month to go and they were firmly in first place! I was so surprised.
