We need some other QB... we already did a season with just EJ Manuel and some practice squad scrubs. It wasn't good.

For sure. All things considered, the Bills got pretty lucky with Orton last year. He played solid, won a couple of games (the Vikings one, definitely), and didn't lose any.

Not sure there are any other guys like him out there. The only one I can think of is Cutler, but he might be forever damaged goods.

Meh. He started great, but his stats got bad towards the end of the season and there were definitely some times where it looked like he was a guy that had already decided to retire. I think he did the Bills a huge favor by retiring... I think we would have gotten more of second-half Kyle Orton next year.

I'd take Cutler in a heartbeat... it's not like there's a lot to be had out there for QBs.

A mediocre game managing QB would be a step up from both Cutler & Manuel.

Cutler could work though he's prone to blowing games which that Bills D shouldn't deserve to give up.

They'll probably draft a mid round project & find a vet on the free agent pile.

^^^ They've run through potential free agent QBs on local radio (i.e. some guys will resign)... there's nobody I'd really take over Manuel, and I don't even particularly like Manuel. Maybe Matt Flynn?

Mark Sanchez will be available. Just saying.

Yikes. I can't even imagine that reunion happening.

I wonder if Ol Rex will be updating his tattoo if that happens.

Reports are that a reunion could be in the works between Lovie Smith and Rod Marinelli in Tampa Bay.

Key word being "could". Marinelli could easily stay in Dallas another season.

He needs a contract first. He will go to Tampa out of loyalty to Lovie. The Bears wanted him to stay and work with Tressman but didn't out of loyalty. He came to Dallas out of loyalty to Monte Kiffin. At age 65, he'll return to Tampa.

So John Fox is available. His best buddy is Sean Payton. Ernie Accorsi is close friends w/ Fox as well. Ryan Pace worked w/ Payton for over a decade. Please John. John, pls.

Jack Del Rio probably going to the Raiders. I think that'd be a decent hire, he did pretty well with the upstart Jaguars a few years ago. AFC West isn't exactly getting more dangerous around them.

While I don't like them, I do think the NFL is better with a competitive Raiders team. We want to hate them but not when they scuk.

Why on earth would manning want to start over with a whole new staff - unless he's being named head coach / quarterback / GM.

He's done.

I like Rex Ryan, but I'm a little worried because it seems like we're set up for the same thing that didn't work during his Jets tenure: no QB, but a good defense. He still made it pretty fat into the playoffs; I'll take that. At least the press conferences will be fun. His OC choice will be very important.

That's cold :)

Bears won't hire a guy on his second spin, let alone his third. Shanahan practically begged for an interview and they wouldn't give him one. They didn't want Rex Ryan, either.
