TheOldRoman
I'm thrilled that Glendale has apparently wised up and this may be it for the Coyotes. I'm much less thrilled about them setting up a slapdash team in Seattle , rushing jersey/logos which will make the OKC Thunder's logo look like a painstaking design, and playing their games in a local ice rink.Whose to say they aren't currently done/in the works?Well, the Thunders' set should have been long finished, too, but instead they put it together in like a week. Besides, having a new identity ready would take foresight and a level of competence which the NHL really doesn't have.

BigBubba
The coyote could be the state animal of Washington and I'd still want a name change. The name "Coyotes" has epitomized failure and the league's incompetence over the past almost 20 (!) years. Go the Ottawa route and call yourself the "Metros" with an all-new brand package. It's a nice tip of the cap to your city's hockey history while allowing you to start anew, forget the past 20 years and carve out your own identity (in both the "forget the Glendale disaster" and the "we're not the original Metros" ways). Midway
Well, I do want the NHL in Seattle but not like this. Their team would have to carry all the garbage, erm baggage, from this current team and will be vilified from the start. Leave it to the NHL to derail a success story before it even gets a chance to begin. At least I can say it would be better than Glendale, right? CubsFanBudMan
BREAKING: League-Owned Hockey Franchise Purchased By Alberta-Based Ownership Group, Will Not MoveWell... they did buy the Mallards from themselves if it was a purchase. Very NHL-like. In reality it sounds more like Boston Pizza didn't want to be league owners anymore and preferred to be team owners instead. But I digress... DaytonBlue
If I owned the Coyotes and were moving them to Seattle, I'd keep the Coyotes name until the new arena was built, kind of how the Titans played as the Oilers in TN for two years while LP Field was built. I'd especially do it if the alternative was rushing to create a OKC Thunder quality logo. cmm
Just to update the calendar, it appears the deadline is now July 2.http://www.azcentral...?nclick_check=1But time is getting short. The NHL has agreed to wait until a July 2nd meeting for a proposed deal to go to vote, but not a minute longer. That would make next Tuesday’s meeting informational by nature, and allow the city time to make the proposal public, to satisfy the need for transparency. That also means the nuts-and-bolts negotiating must be done by the end of an electronic session scheduled for Friday, according to the source. If there is no clarity or progress, it could set the Coyotes in motion, and on the road to Seattle.

CJR
So Kypreos says that Glendale will not be giving RSE the money they want... But also that Key Arena won't be ready this season so the team is staying put anyway.http://kuklaskorner.com/hockey/comments/early-morning-tweets-bode-poorly-for-the-coyotesI'd thought that second part had already been debunked but even if it's true, I find it hard to believe that the NHL would say "Okay, fine, you called our bluff, we'll stick around." They'll find an even worse place to put the team for next year.
