bosrs1
Apparently only Vegas and QC submitted bids. Nothing from Hamilton, Toronto, Seattle, Portland, or anyplace else.Looks like it's getting harder for Bettman to find a way not to give Quebec City a team.Seems like. I mean at this point his only out is to cancel expansion completely. Which I suppose is still possible. The Coyotes still have no deal in Glendale. If he relocates them to Vegas he can call of expansion without too much fuss.
DG_YouKnowWhatThatMeans
Gary Bettman must have hired Vince McMahon as a consultant. They seem to have similar contempt for their core audiences and chase mainstream acceptance (that will never come) instead of focusing on making the existing product as good as it can be. I don't know why the NHL spends so much time fighting its natural audience. They're turning down existing money in favor of imaginary money in places that don't want them as much as they want to be wanted. It's embarrassing to watch. 5 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

No expansion. Instead, Florida/Carolina move to Quebec for a sale price + relocation fee that adds up to an expansion fee. Apparently, only Mr. Foley and Quebecor have the confidence in their ability to secure an arena and suitable ownership capability to move forward with this process. Thread for when Gary Bettman gets a little salty. Other leagues hire public relations agencies to write press releases like these. It'll really expose the whole "anyone but Quebec" mindset.Even working from a mindset that anything the NHL does is wrong, dropping expansion now would make sense. If three cities applied, it would be good - two expansion teams and a new home for the Coyotes. But everybody knows that the Coyotes are on borrowed time in Glendale, and the NHL needs to keep a market for them (likely Vegas). I don't think they want to expand to 31 teams, so we'll just end up with the coming disaster in Las Vegas and wait for the Panthers to eventually fold up tents and move to QC.
