I can deal with the Sharks making the Final, but I can't deal with everyone swooning over Joe Thornton as if he's anything but a sneaky-dirty asshat who presided over his team becoming a perennial laughingstock. But hey, who cares that he's a being made up entirely of secondary assists and failures, he has a big beard and a doofy grin! Meme potential!

 

Patrick Marleau is a solid guy by all accounts.

I like homeless Joe Thornton because it's like he gave up and let go of everything after the Kings broke him in 2014. He doesn't care anymore and the most dangerous man is the man who has nothing left to lose.

Lightning-Penguins. Who starts in net? I'd go with Murray, but I hope Sullivan goes with Fluery out of dumb guy stubbornness. In Tampa so Lightning gets last change. Cooper's matchups with Malkin/Crosby will be something to keep an eye on.

At the beginning of the playoffs it actually took me a game or two to even realize that was Joe Thornton under that beard. It's almost as if he went into the witness protection program in order to hide from his past reputation. I expect for him to play next game in a hoodie and sunglasses.

In fairness, "after far too long, Joe Thornton has won the Cup" would be like several hundred times more understandable than "after far too long, Dave Andreychuk has won the Cup."
