Broncos new uniforms coming?

Good G-d. A few half-wits from Reddit tried to kickstart the "new Broncos uniform" rumour a few years back (along with a rumour about a chrome Cowboys helmet that never came to pass) and it just won't die. 

Now we have people familiar with the Broncos who have confirmed that this is just an annual sale they do, and that it's not indicative of any uniform change. Won't stop the rumour mill though.

The D logo simply looks better than the horsehead.  But as others have said, I'd be surprised they switched back because of the Super Bowl success with the horsehead logo.

Very nice. On its own, maybe a bit dull, but as a whole with the helmet and pants, I think this is near perfect. Maybe a Texans style shoulder stripe but not really necessary in my opinion.

I couldn't disagree any more. The D is ok as an alt logo, but the horse head is VASTLY superior to the D. 

 

Honestly, the Broncos really aren't that far away from looking totally iconic. If they brought back the navy jersey as the full time home, tweaked the side stripes just a bit, and added just a bit more red to their orange (The color rush set seems to do this), they'd be perfect.

With exception of the gigantic horse collar (which more teams need to get rid of ASAP) the Broncos seems to have a perfect set.

I'll just slip in my take on the Broncos old logo.

 

I didn't like the color rush helmets, but the uniforms would make for a nice full-time set if they were updated to include the current number font.  The old Broncos logo just doesn't work as it is.  It's just too poorly rendered.  The current logo isn't perfect, but it works pretty well on a football helmet.

 

I don't have a problem with the current uniforms.  The switch to orange was a necessary step.  The jersey style itself was pretty stale a few years ago and I can't think of a team other than Denver that it look actually worked for but at this point, I don't think it's a bad look for them.

I think the home should stay orange. And, I think that their unis may need an overhaul in the next five to ten years or so.

Why do people want the Broncos to be a primarily navy team? NFL has a plethora of navy teams. If I counted correctly, there are 8 teams with navy as its primary color. The Broncos should own the orange.

I don't really even disagree with this, but there are two factors that I feel push the Broncos to navy in my mind. 

 

1) The navy jersey just flat out looks better than the orange jersey. The particular shade of orange that they use just doesn't work as the primary color when paired with navy. It's always bugged me. It works much better with the old royal they used to use. If they added a bit more red to the hue I think it wouldn't be quite so jarring. 

 

2) Denver has a history of getting absolutely obliterated in big games while wearing the orange. Call it an irrational stigma if you'd like, but whenever I see Denver in orange, I can't help but think about moments like these

Fair points. However, I think they can work with the color rush jersey.

the color rush looked good - at least in still photos - but I tend to agree that the bright orange and deep navy are too far apart to work together.  I think a Giantsish metallic dark royal helmet could look fantastic with their current logo, and work well with color-rushish jerseys.  Throw in some dark-royal pants (unless they're flat and clash with the metallic helmet) and some orange pants (yeah... I know) to go along with the white ones, and there's a solid set.  Just don't go matte.  Please.

 

Also - is my man up there wearing Mizuno baseball cleats?

It also looks like he's missing a white stripe on his sleeve.

The current orange screams Peyton Manning at me.  The 'new' blues are superior to the home orange imo.  I think the colour rush D helmet is a better fit than the horse.

Home oranges btw look great on the Dolphins, wish they'd try those more often.  As I put them in playing Madden.

Yes, definitely (though that's not saying much.)  THe orange they use is too different from the navy helmet and stands out too much.  THe numbers don't look great against it either.  I wonder if they changed shades of orange over the years.  When Brian Dawkins signed with them, all the stores in Phila stocked up on orange Broncos #20 jerseys.  I saw an auth up close, and the orange was beautiful - seemed "flatter" than the nearly fluorescent shade they use now (or at least that's how it looks on TV.)

Yeah.  I haven't ranked them, but they're in that bottom tier.  I remember the actual unveiling - they were a joke back then, and still are - though not nearly the same joke that TB and JAX are.

I've actually warmed (A little bit) to cyberhorse on the helmet - though it's too long to work as a primary logo.  The thing is, while the Dhorse is a better primary, how many teams (besides Vikings, Rams, Eagles) don't use their primary on the helmet?

I don't personally like the side hooks on the Broncos jerseys but they've been around for twenty years and the team's won three Super Bowls with them and I think they've become kind of iconic. That's who they are now. Same with the Patriots. I think their jerseys have too much going on but that is who the Patriots are.
