This may just be a puff, but usually where there's smoke, there's at least a spark if not a small fire. So take it for what it's worth.

Rumor: Bucs New Uniforms Coming?

Pertinent from the link:

Quote

PewterReport.com’s Mark Cook had an exclusive interview with Bucs Co-Chairman Joel Glazer at the NFL Owners Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona and asked Tampa Bay’s ownership that very question.

His answer?

“No,” Glazer said for the 2019 – but didn’t rule it out for 2020 and beyond.

“We are always looking at everything and seeing where we can change things in our organization and make things better,” Glazer told PewterReport.com. “Whether it is our stadium, on the field, off the field, uniforms, looks – so everything is always on the table and under discussion.”

The last time I saw that line of logic was about three years ago, out of Amy Adams Strunk, before the Tenneessee Titans ended up cosplaying as titans who play football, so...

All they really need to do is get rid of the oversized helmet logo, the chrome facemask, the shoulder yoke, the asymmetrical sleeve logos, the alarm clock numbers, and the blocky panels on the sides of the pants where the stripes should be.

That should just about fix things.

I’m just worried that Nike’s minimalist phase isn’t entirely over. I’m not sure I trust the Bucs to resist a super-austere design that’s missing several colors key to earlier sets.

Honestly, it’s been long enough since 2002 that updating Bucco Bruce and the creamsicles is also a realistic option. Make of that what you will.

I whipped up a concept that I think could salvage the current identity. I'm still new to this so be kind!

A guy had a controversial concept (thanks, @turbo72577) :

Bruce is shockingly salvageable and his uniforms translate better to modern design conventions (e.g., Jets, Jags, and new Dolphins).

Needs more creamsicle. Here’s my attempt:

Sorry it’s so rough, I’m working in Paint, so apparently that means I can put minimal effort into it

Well, about eight years ago I made an actual  update to my old creamsicle sets not to mention Bruce, so...

I wouldn't mind a return to creamsicle but I actually prefer the current Buccaneers's logo. I thought the one thing the past rebrand did well was modernizing the 2002 logo without going overboard.

The unis on the other hand......bleh

They already nailed the new flag logo. So no need to touch that.

The numbers have 3 outlines and use a total of 4 colors. They may be onto something with that unique font. It's not all bad. But for a re-do, I would re-adjust the numbers to have the outlines more consistent, to go along with the cross-swords logo and flag better.

You know they’re going to find a way to look even worse the next time they change uniforms, right? This is the Bucs we’re talking about. Disgusting me in every way possible is what they were put on this planet to do.

So to the mods, how is this "sports logos NEWS", when it's a topic based on an owner saying "“We are always looking at everything and seeing where we can change things in our organization and make things better,” Glazer told PewterReport.com. “Whether it is our stadium, on the field, off the field, uniforms, looks – so everything is always on the table and under discussion.”, NOT even saying explicitly or not-denying that they're getting new uniforms?  It's not even a rumor.

Could the forums be any more arbitrary?

(nothing against you, Buc, just pointing out the suboptimal nature of the new forum system... there's many other threads that I've pointed out too.)

Perfection. With as good as this is, I bet if they went with your concept and won a Super Bowl, there's no way they'd ever change. No need to...

I’ve described this before, but I’ve always thought a something similar to their Color Rush jersey (with a different number font) would look good if worn with white pants and red socks.

If not that, I’d be curious to see them make orange and pewter the primary/secondary colors with red as an accent.

I've been consistent in hating when anyone suggests that a team simply 'goes back' to a previous design, however I'd make an exception in this case.  They really should simply admit a mistake and 'go back'.  If they want to switch it up some, then switch the numbers to a custom but still basic style (like the Texans) but I think that's unnecessary.
