Seems to me to be a matter of location. Suits inside, teamwear outside.

The change of coach attire was one of my favorite changes from the NBA bubble. Coaches wore polos and quarter zips with slacks and I vastly preferred that look. I don't need coaches to look like CEO's showing up to the boardroom, its a ridiculous amount of pomp and circumstance and really unnecessary.

See, it's not pomp and circumstance. It's just the expectation for dress. Pomp would be coming dressed in a tux.

A suit and tie though? Just an expectation of proper dress.

Proper dress to sit in a chair and watch 10 grown man run around and sweat in shorts and tank tops? That's ridiculous and unnecessary. Saying that a tuxedo would be pomp just shows that this is all opinion and expectations based. In my opinion, wearing a suit and tie is completely unnecessary for the position and coaches shouldn't have to wear them. I have no problem with a coach deciding to wear a suit and tie but forcing it with a dress code is unnecessary.

That's not even to mention how the NBA dress code rules as they relate to players are racist. They started forcing players to wear a suit and tie to help the image of the league and make them look less "thug" or "ghetto" to the rich white people buying floor seats.

They needed some sort of check on guys wearing white t-shirts the size of Luxembourg. They looked ridiculous. I think we forget that the mid-2000s were hideous times.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Which kind of bigotry is it when sports leagues don't allow coaches to wear speedos and flip flops to games

Surprised no one has commented on how clean the Raiders-Chargers game was on Thursday. Probably would've been improved by blue pants for LAC but still two good looks facing off.

Was it really a "clean" game.

I have absolutely no idea why so many people want the Broncos to switch back to this logo. I get that some people don’t like the current horse (which seems equally crazy to me, because it’s great), but this thing is total garbage. That snot rocket is one of the most jacked up things I’ve ever seen on a sports logo.

I need to wear a suit to work on a teacher's salary.

People being payed pro athlete and pro coach money can certainly be "bothered" to wear them to the arena.

Looks like the Broncos equipment manager corrected the decal error (via exacto-knife).

I'm not sure how teachers or salaries are relevant.  It has nothing to do with how much you're paid, it has to do with dressing for the job.  It doesn't make sense to wear a wool suit when touching hot-sweaty athletes and being relatively active yourself, just like it doesn't make sense for a baseball manager to wear a player uniform when he's usually a fat old guy that might make one or two trips to the mound per game.

Thanks for being completely dismissive. That's helpful. I know you're the "PLAYERS UBER ALLES" guy but geeze. It's a professional dress code.

To your point though...

LeBron James can easily afford better suits than I can, and more of them too!

NBA players wear suits when they arrive at the stadium. I should hope they're not "hot-sweaty" yet. It's not like they play the game in them. Come on now.

get your union on this! I had a middle-school grade teacher wear a Sebadoh t-shirt to class in the 90s and it changed my life. pretty good teacher too!
