DoctorWhom Posted October 31, 2021 Share Posted October 31, 2021 Hearing we lost Remy really hurt. He's been such an iconic voice for the Red Sox. Really going to miss him. I've heard a few people tossing around the idea of renaming Jersey Street (Yawkey Way) after him, and I really like that idea. No doubt he'll get a big tribute on opening day next year. Digby Posted October 31, 2021 Share Posted October 31, 2021 Remy was a little much sometimes but a real good broadcaster. It’s nice for the Red Sox to have a team legend who’s a Fall River guy. Too bad about the cancer, and the whole thing with his kid, but that didn’t seem to tarnish his legacy with the team or its fans. I would hope that they'd make arrangements to do it in the city. The Braves "have an Atlanta address," just ask them, they'll tell you. But it would be a nice gesture to try to bring everyone back into the tent. I don't think it's healthy what's going on in Atlanta sports, where the Braves are white people's team and the Hawks are black people's team.
