McCarthy got carried by a stellar defense and an all-time QB to one SB win, which is the only reason he still has a job (that, and the fact that Jerry can push him around). If anything, Dallas should make Dan Quinn the head coach, just out of fear of losing him to another team.

helluva performance by kicker Dustin Hopkins, 4 clutch field goals through immense pain is no joke, especially when it's the difference between a win and a loss. Seemed like a standup guy in the postgame interview too.

Did you read the link? The 'highly successful coach' is what he called himself 🤣

In other words, we agree!

Dallas' defensive front is so much better than I thought - with or without Parsons creating havoc.  Eagles have one of - if not the best - OL in the NFL, and while their All Pro RT suffered an early concussion which created a major weakness, they didn't push around the Cowboys like they usually push around everyone else.  I don't think the Cowboys offense is elite, even with Dak, but good enough to win them some big games if their defense can consistently do what they did last night.  It's not often Hurts gets sacked or has to throw it away, and he was running for his life a few times yesterday (and even when that does happen, the Eagles can flip the switch to run mode, and drop 200 rushing yards on you in a second.  They couldn't do that against the Dallas defense.)

I was surprised too that Dallas basically neutralized the rush game of the Eagles. That was a major concern because that's the one place Dallas' D can be exposed. But it was nice to see the defense still create so much havoc against such a good offensive line and offense. Ultimately what I was most afraid of in this game was the awful Cowboys offense making the mistakes they've been avoiding against a good defense like the Eagles. And that's exactly what happened. Once Dak comes back, I'm not expecting the Cowboys to all of the sudden have an elite offense, but with Rush the Cowboys have been a bottom 5 or even bottom 3 offense in the league. As long as the offense can be league average with Dak, this team can do some damage because of that defense.

I must say I was impressed with Philly's play calling. Super creative and it helps Hurts out tremendously. Gives him a ton of easy throws and easy reads, which allows him to play to his strength's. That's the mark of a good offensive coordinator. And even though the Cowboys did a great job at stifling that offense for the most part, the Eagles still  had a big boy drive at the end of the game to ice the game after Dallas came back. That was impressive. I think the Eagles will win 13 games pretty easily this year. I don't see how they lose more than 4 times this season.

They basically left Parsons unblocked half the time so they could read off what he did, which worked really well. They were worse off when they tried to block him than when they just let him go free. Would never have expected that, but it might be a blueprint.

It's an analogy. He's clearly not saying playing football is literally like fighting in a war.

Right? Like, I know how much everyone hates the guy. But people sure are willing to be deliberately obtuse in order to make their weird, usually misguided, points.

Dude travels for work. It’s not like that’s a particularly unheard of problem. The “war” comparison is probably a bit much, but it’s not really that far off.

If I recall correctly, there were even statements about insufficient rebar/support within the pillars. It's not just needing to fix cracks and patch items, as mentioned upthread, it appears to have been shoddily built, and thus "fixing" it contributes to that exorbitant repair price.
