Saintsfan
I borrowed the idea for this thread from a book out in England about the worst soccer player for each english team. Who do you rate as the worst players to play for your favourite teams ever? Southampton had a playing called I think Ali Dah or something. It was quite a funny story really, someone pretending to be George Weah, who at the tiome was World footballer of the year, phoned up recomending this guy, and he was taken on. he only came on for like the last 20 minutes of a game once, when it became obvious he was involved in a hoax!! robbman21
I've been disappointed with Allen Rossum since the Falcons spent so much money on him since they already had kick returner Darrick Vaughn.Ellis Johnson was also a big dissappointment for me as he tried to quit like 3 pre-seasons in a row before they finally sent him on his way this year.I dont want anybody on my team that doesnt want to be there. wheateater
I tend to be a fan of every player on my favourite teams, but many a Kings fan seemed to dislike Craig Johnson when he was there. Maybe Leafs fans and Ducks fans (are there any?) can give their opinions on him given the short time he played with those teams last year. Always making beautiful tape-to-tape passes to guys on the other team, never skating hard, always reliable for at least a -10 rating........good times, Craig. Good times. TFoA
Doug Johnson for the Falcons last year. He's the #2 reason The Falcons went 5-11 last year
BaltimoreFan
Ravens: Elvis GrbacHe came on after the Super Bowl replacing Trent Dilfer (worse move ever). I even remember Sports Illustrated saying it was similar to a baseball trade of Trot Nixon for Barry Bonds. Orioles: Joe CarterI remember people saying he was supposed to be part of a 2-headed DH monster (along with Harold Baines). He turned out to be a huge bust and we traded him for a minor leaguer late in the season.

Jays: The fabulous duo of Orlando Merced and Carlos Garcia... we traded for the two up and coming Pirate all-stars right around the time of the Clemens signing... they both hit below .250 and were both gone by the all-star break. Stampman
Calgary Flames-Easy--Kari Eloranta- or Scary Kari as we called him.Runnerup--Dana MurzynBonus answer-Overall in the NHL Gilles Lupien-Montreal Canadiens--a pathetic attempt at the Habs employing a goon...Calgary Stampeders-Hmmm--tough one--with all the players that come & go--so I'll pick someone who was a starter-Troy Kopp--shortlived atarting QB when the Stamps had a rash of QB injuries--he wasn't playing, and seemed the only choice--did brutally. Although if he'd been there in training camp he would have been better--but still sub par.Overall CFL--Dexter Manley or Mark Gastineau--simply because they didn't live up to even 10% of their potential or hype--had much better days south of the border...I may pick some others later--but when I sya my team--these two are the ones I think of... twi
in the thrashers inaugural rookie draft we drafted Patrick Stefan. he's done nothing since. Not Byron Dafoe? And for my Bolts, I'd have to say the second time Kevin Hodson was with us. Just brutal.
jrodsep
Jack Haley for the Bulls and the Spurs. He was just a clown that Rodman carried over to his next team. I think he was in the banch when Rodman played for Dallas or LA not sure.
Discrim
ever? the eagles drafted this one guy named mike mamula in the first round b/c he wowed at the combine. as starting end, mamula got 5 sacks OVER 6 SEASONS!!! i remember Mamula, there was all this hype that he was gonna make Eagle fans forget that Reggie fella and all that. I'm sort of surprised you didn't say Bobby Hoying but heh (oddly enough, I was at one time the proud owner of a Hoying jersey)UW hoops: Sam Okey, known to me as Okeyblow. came in with a lot of hype, did nothing, transferred to Iowa, did more nothing, is doing even more nothing in the CBA.UW football: whoever the hell he is, he's been long forgotten.Packers: Despite my hatred of Mike McKenzie, he did contribute for much of his time in GB. No, this cannot be limited to one guy. I must note two, one before Ron Wolf came aboard and made the moves that turned the franchise around, and one after Wolf retired and Mike Sherman took over as GM.pre-Wolf: and we mainly have SI to blame. yes, i speak of Tony Mandarich, aka The Incredible Bust. To his credit, he made a brief comeback with Indy and I hear he did better.post-Wolf: Jamal Reynolds, aka 99 You Suck. The Pack had its chance to grab Dan Morgan, who woulda been their best MLB since Nitschke and their answer to Urlacher. Instead they take this hack in the 1st round, hoping he'll be the next Reggie. He wasn't, and good riddance.Bears: I have to turn a triple play. first, the Bears' O-line. One top-level lineman does not an entire line make. The sooner front office remembers that, the better. Second, Rashaan Salaam. one part, the aforementioned substandard line which prevented him from doing much. second, he was an underachiever. Third and least...the moment I heard "The Chicago Bears select Cade McNown, quarterback, UCLA" I knew the franchise had been set back 5 years. Know how the Bears' middle linebackers become legends? The reverse is true at QB, where there's Sid Luckman, Jim McMahon, and then almost nothing. Cade McClown was in the nothing area. moving on...Cubs: Alex Gonzalez. or should I say Bootsy Collins-here lies the REAL culprit in the Bartman incident. He fields the ball cleanly, the Cubs are in the WS. As you saw, he boots it and the Marlins got the big MO.
