infrared41
Woa.. Woa... This isn't a College Football vs. NFL topic, though. No one said it was. I think if you read the posts closely you'll see that no one at any point said they weren't a fan of the NFL. We were simply comparing the NFL to College Football. I love the NFL but for me it's just not as exciting as College Football, especially this year. This has the potential to be a great weekend for us Northern Ohioans. The Buckeyes could beat Michigan and The Browns could take down the Ravens. It doesn't get any better. Go Browns!
Burning River
I was just steering the topic back to NFL. It was drifting off in to the argument of which teams get screwed by the BCS.The thing I don't like about the NFL though, is that there are those teams that the media latch on to. Then they force feed you. Just watch how fast the Colts slide off the radar. Now we'll get to hear the "Countdown to Pittsburgh/New England". Everyone on TV tells you what you should like and what you "must see". I guess that's why many people prefer the underdogs so much. ASide from shutting up the irrogant teams... it shuts up these network so-called guru's.Go Buck's and go Browns indeed!
BlueSky
The thing I don't like about the NFL though, is that there are those teams that the media latch on to. Then they force feed you.Have to agree...I'm from New Orleans and even I'd heard enough about the Katrina angle on the Saints season last year. It was a valid story - the Saints have a deep and unique relationship with their fans, and it's impossible to overstate what the storm did to the city - but come on. They just pound you with it over and over and over. Hearing the Saints called "the NFL's feel-good story" made me want to gag by the time the NFC Championship rolled around. I didn't mind the Saints in the limelight - God knows our time in the sun is rare indeed - but I wanted it to be about their play, not the fact that a hurricane demolished most of the city. FiddySicks
Falcons are down 31-0.Ugh.Oh hell yayerr!!!!!!I gotta disagree with you flame, 9-7 aint gonna win the South this season. And it looks like with the Panthers, Saints, and Falcons all losing that them Pewter Pirates may just be starting to run away with that division.........Lord I PRAY that I haven't spoken too soon......EDIT: Well, 9-7 COULD win the division, but I think, considering who we have left to play (Niners, Falcons, Saints, Texans, Panthers, Redskins ect ect) that we SHOULD do much better than 9-7. Chief.
Chiefs run a draw play on 3rd and 18 and never see the ball again. The only thing funnier than that is Herm's press conference after the game (see my sig).
PeytonManningRocks
Ok did anyone catch the end of regulation in the Browns-Ravens game? Possibly the most crazy play ever to end a game. Phil Dawson kicks a FG that bounces off the upright, bounces inward and hits the little support bar and bounces out. FG is good and game is tied. Wow!And in other news, the Colts didn't look good today and we should've lost, but thankfully the Chiefs offense sucks.
-(dp)-
Ugghhhh. Friggin Shaun McDonald. The Lions had a good chance to win that game. Shaun McDonald, did nothing to stop an interception on a jump ball, and then Detroit had the ball again down by 6, at I think about the Giants' 40 yard line. Shaun McDonald was wide open, but tipped a very catchable ball straight up in the air, where it was picked off. Now 3 games behind the Packers. That was the worst way they could have lost that game, Shaun McDonald gave it away.

TFoA
One thing is true: Except for the Patriots, Colts, Cowboys, and Packers, the rest of the NFL is historically bad.
