I had no idea who they were until this blow up occured. Talk about a slick p.r. move.
illwauk
Packers 3-0 (and against Eagles, Giants, Chargers)didnt expect that oneespecially after Ahman Green left, but the way McCarthy is handling Favre seems to be working out pretty well.I turned the game off in disgust after the Packers went for it (and failed) on 4th & goal when they were losing just to give Brett another crack at the record.I've forgiven Brett for a lot of crap over the years because I thought that deep down, he thought he was doing what was right for the team. That might have been true in 1996, but somewhere along the way his self-centered off the field attitude (trust me, he is NOT the "humble country boy" the media makes him out to be) took over his better judgment on the field. See Red
Joey Harrington has a big day, and we still lose. Why?Meangelo Hall and his dumb feud with Steve Smith. That's why. Yeesh. If you had told me that the Raiders would have a win before the Falcons, I'd say you're a dummy.67 yards worth of penalties by one player in a game is unacceptable. 67 yards worth of penalties by one player on a single drive is just insanely ridiculous. Steve Smith had only one catch for ten yards and he was still so far inside of DeAngelo Hall's head it's not even funny. Smith proves that he doesn't need the ball in his hands to impact a game.By the way, Steve Smith is probably the one guy in the league that I would want to piss off the least. Today wasn't the greatest example but the first two weeks were... when you give him extra motivation he's lethal.
FiddySicks
Packers 3-0 (and against Eagles, Giants, Chargers)Don't feel too good about beating the Tijuana Roidgers -- the most overrated team in the history of sport. This coming from a fan of a team who had to get extremely lucky to beat two of the worst teams in the league in the first two weeks.......... If you had told me that the Raiders would have a win before the Falcons, I'd say you're a dummy.Just curious, did you think the 2nd penalty on Hall, for "jamming" Steve Smith by hitting him in the face, was justified? The game announcers and then Meion Sanders on NFL Network all said it was bogus, but at the least it was illegal hands to the face and the way he delivered it, I wasn't surprised they called unnecessary roughness. As I said about that jackass Hall last year after Mike Vick flipped off the fans following the Falcons 31-13 loss to the Saints:-----What was worse than Vick's "salute": 1. That POS cheap-shot artist DeAngelo Hall dragging down Devery Henderson 8 yards deep in the end zone using a tackle outlawed because it tends to injure people. He got smoked on that play and then managed to whiff on the Hail Mary, giving the Saints the TD that Vick said "took the life out of this team." What a pathetic loser.-----
Seadragon76
Well, it was called Illegal Hand to the Face, right? If so, then the call is justified. Something tells me that his attitude needs to change quickly.Speaking of close calls... *whew* I'm glad Seattle survived that game with Cincy. It wasn't 51-45 like the previous week, but I'll take it.

What a pathetic loser.-----I've disliked D-Hall ever since that hail mary. The fool went for an INT, instead of just easily batting the ball down. Ever since then, I've known what he's all about. And he basically confirmed it yesterday. InTheEnd nailed my sentiments, 67 yards of penalties BY YOURSELF is ridiculous, and how you could basically shut down your "rival" yet let him be so much inside your head is utterly ridiculous. And the second penalty, at least to me, wasn't justified. The refs were by then trying to control the situation since D-Hall and Smith were already jawing at each other previously during the game, and also right after the pass interference. The third one was all on D-Hall, however. Should've controlled himself. This is one game where the turning point and maybe the loss could be put 95% on D-Hall, because this team did enough to win. I mean, once again, if you had told me before the game that Joey Harrington would go OFF, Roddy White would catch some balls, John Abraham would terrorize the Panthers like he normally does, and Steve Smith gets held to 10 yards, I'd tell you that we'd finally get our first win of the season. Shows me what I know about this team.

The same play they ran 4th and goal was good for a TD earlier in the game. Add to that an unproven backfield vs. a HOF QB and you really think that McCarthy was simply trying to give Favre a "another crack at the record?" If that were the case then they could have tried a couple passes for their last TD after the interception. Instead they ran the ball. Hard as it might be for you to believe, I think they were trying to win the game first.

Either way, someone is going have to explain to DeAngelo that it's not all about him.
