The_Admiral
Oh okay. I was going to say, Pittsburgh isn't the best place in the world right now, but it's preferable to Cleveland. Cleveland isn't even notably awful (Buffalo) or an abject tragedy (Detroit), nor is it renowned for lots of delicious fatty food (Milwaukee). It's just there. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

scooter13
Though how anyone can claim there's a conspiracy to keep the Red Wings from winning is lost on me.That was my point. Rational people know it can't be a conspiracy. First of all, it couldn't happen. If the Wings were that much better, it wouldn't matter how many penalties are called, the Wings would have won. Secondly, would it really be such a huge boost in marketing the NHL by having Crosby win the Cup? No. If it was, the "conspiracy" would have happened last year, too.Plus, these are fans of a team that's been THE favourite to win the cup for years. Now they see this team getting up there in age, and losing to a much younger team and it kind of says "wow, the Red Wings' years at the top, in their current form, may be over."Oh, I wouldn't count them out just yet. They said the same thing after the 2002 Cup. Six years later, they were still a perennial favorite, and then went to two straight Cup Finals. Sure guys like Chelios and Maltby won't be back, and Draper possibly played his last game with the Wings, too. But they have plenty of young talent that showed a lot of promise during the playoffs. So long as Holland and the scouting staff stick around, I wouldn't be counting the Wings out so quickly. habsfan1
-I hate how Detroit fans cheered when Crosby was limping to the bench after being checked hard into the boards. Yaaaay, Crosby's out. Now are cup chances are better. Is that any different than fans cheering any other opposition players being injured after a hit?I can understand when a team's fans cheer when an opposing player get checked hard and falls on his behind or does a 360 in mid air. But there was nothing spectacular in that sequence. The cheers weren't because of the hit. Had Crosby skated off normally following that hit, there woudn't even be any cheers. That's the difference. The Wings were digging themselves into a hole, and it feels like the fans imagined his injury as the only possible turning point to the game. That's why I think what they did was dumb. Roger Clemente
Interestingly enough, Both Crosby and Roethlisberger had to go to Detroit to win their first championships. Too bad the Penguins will never face the Lightning in a Cup Finals. Also recognize that the three teams Pittsburgh beat to get to the Finals were the first three teams Detroit beat to win their first three cups of this era, in order. It was a total team effort from the Pens. Even losing Malkin for a game probably wouldn't have hurt too much, and he was the MVP of the playoffs. Uggh, that one made my stomach turn. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
