chestnutz
OH MAN!!!! Some Eagle fans may not like it, but I LOVE the signing. An already potent offense just got even more dangerous. Can you imagine the wildcat with Westbrook, even McNabb lined up next to him? I know he's got a long way to go and nobody knows what kind of shape he's in, but I'm so pumped for this season even moreso now. Always gotta love Philly getting publicity too. erikas | go birds | dribbble
TFoA
Some guy on Bleacher Report says that Vick signed with the Eagles. The unexpected has just happened.I was watching the CBS news and a reporter just announced Vick has agreed to a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. The signing hasn't been reported by ESPN, but should be soon.Vick is going to be on 60 Minutes Sunday at 7:00 P.M. so this may make the interview a little more interesting. There aren't any other details but I will be sure to post it.Considering this is coming from a guy on Bleacher Report, I don't believe it. But if it's true, then Week 12 at the Georgia Dome is going to be a circus. Just what we need. At least he's back with a team, if this is true.Schefter has nothing yet, although it is rumored that Vick is trying out for Paula Abdul's job on American Idol and in a golf foursome. ( )Well, Adam "I never lie, word is bond" Schefter just congratulated Mortensen on getting the story, so yeah, it's happened.So...what are the odds his employers as of this coming Monday forced him to feed that story to Mort? lmao. That would be AMAZINGLY petty if they did that.2-to-1 odds.

AJM
Wow...suprised he landed in Philly. Thought he'd end up in Carolina or Dallas. BBTV
Vick to Philly, a 2 year deal, just said on ESPN.What do you think Eagle fans?I'm shocked and disappointed that they would do this, however not for the reasons most would expect.I am a huge proponent of Michael Vick getting another chance. I'm one of those "crazy" people that feels that he is more of a victim of his background and upbringing, and not necessarily a "bad" or "evil" guy. I'm totally against the heinous things he did, but I also didn't grow up in an environment where dog fighting was common, and I had certain values instilled in me that he obviously didn't have the advantage of having. He did his time, was supposedly educated and rehabilitated, and now he's back into society. That being said, I didn't want that kind of distraction around "my" team. The Eagles have two capable quarterbacks, so I imagine that Vick is only going to be used for trick plays. That benefit doesn't outway the negatives that will come from this, such as the protests, bad PR, and the general distraction. LEWJ
Ya know. I realize the Eagles probably did this because Kolb got injured a few days ago.But I would have loved to see Vick go to a team with either an unestablished starter, or a very inconsistent starter.[i.E. Broncos, Browns, Lions, Vikings, Jets, or 49ers.]Or a wildcat team, I really woulda liked to see him with the Dolphins. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

I don't think you can win with him leading your team. It will be interesting to see what role they work him in at.I will have no problems cheering for him, as I have viewed him as the "ultimate rehab project" (for lack of a better wording.) I'm really hoping that he is able to prove that anyone can be rehabilitated and become a productive member of society. I guess I'm hypocritical for hoping that it wouldn't happen on "my" team though.I just hate that I'm going to be put in the position of "defending" him to people who can't see beyond the surface of his crimes. I don't want to have to do that. "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." The_Admiral
True. I wonder what the prevailing opinion is among Eagles fans. Does Vick improve the Eagles' chance at a championship enough to offset the public relations nightmares ahead? I don't think he does. Do you? He's been out of the NFL and civilian life for two whole years. Is it even guaranteed he makes it out of training camp? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
jkrdevil
I don't see why Philadelphia would sign this guy. They run a system that basically consist of the quarterback throwing the ball, then throwing the ball some more, and after that throwing the ball even more. The big knock on Vick is that he can't throw the ball and had the worst completion percentage before going to jail. I doubt he has improved on that since taking two years off. So what is the point of bringing him in? I know they may want an insurance policy for McNabb but there has to be better option out there for their system. I don't give me that bringing him in for the Wildcat. Defensive coordinators have now had a full off-season to prepare a defense for it. Now when the QB lines up at receiver the defenses are going to be prepared and are going to know how to react. I just don't see it being as successful this year. BlueSky
Hey Eagles fans, is Jaws' number retired or can Mikey wear #7? Just curious. BTW, tried to use nflshop.com to gin up a Vick jersey just now and got this response:>> Your current entry cannot be processed. Language deemed inappropriate, derogatory, or profane will not be accepted. Please create a new entry. << I was surprised by this signing. What's next in the tick off McNabb derby, they trade with Buffalo to get T.O. back? Surely the poobahs discussed it with Donovan first...And...everybody keeps talking about Vick and the Wildcat. Um, they run that with running backs taking a direct snap. Use Vick and it's called the 'shotgun'.
FiddySicks
First off, I'm absolutely shocked that Philly would sign Vick, it's essentially a good pick up but I wonder if it's worth it. McNabb can't be happy. Second off, is anyone else even more surprised at just how good John Gruden is in the booth? It's alkmost as if he's been doing it for years. He MUST have had some practice during the off season. Barring him getting another head coaching job, I hope he stays in the booth for a long time On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Billy B
I like that Vick got another chance and I have been looking forward to see him play this season. And yes, the Eagles can run the Wildcat with Vick by putting him in the backfield with McNabb. Or some people have been saying that he could take a few snaps at wide receiver. However they use him, I think he will be a great addition to their offense.
