3. The Buccaneers will incorporate some Cream sickle into their uniform.

Cream as in the color, or constitution? I'm not sure a cream sickle would be very effective.

A cream sickle like this?

Are pirates making their money in landscaping these days?

I imagined it more like this:

However, I really dont see how the color of the sickle makes a difference. Either way, the sickle doesnt make much sense with the rest of their identity :P

Hey, anything's more effective than Josh Freeman.

Byron Leftwitch would beg to differ.

The throwbacks are for 2011. Paul mentioned it in his Meadowlands facility tour post

? The red alternate jersey has been retired. The Giants will not be wearing any alternates or throwbacks in 2009 or 2010, but they have a doozy of a throwback slated for 2011 ? which I can?t describe.

I hope it's a really old throwback, maybe from the 20s or 30s. The Giants had some wild jerseys early in their history. I bet in this final decade before the NFLs 100th season, we'll start to see more and more really old throwbacks. 'Extreme throwbacks' if you will, that challenge the status quo of the modern football uniform.

I think nuordr may be the only guy on here to like the Bills' current clown suites.

His post is like a parody of one by dennisbergan.

They are different, that is why I like them. The Throwbacks just don't need to happen for several reasons, which in my opinion are:

Different does not necessarily mean good.

1. There are way to many white Helmets in the NFL as we speak.

This is true, but since we're talking about teams theoretically changing, I also think the Jets need to go back to green helmets, which would balance out the white/colour helmet numbers if the Bills also went to white.

2. I like colored pants, if there is one thing I hate the most, it is white on white for the road team. So unless they come up with a colored throwback pants, I am not on board.

I'm not a fan of white on white either, and I wouldn't mind some blue pants.

3. The "old logo" is quite frankly "OLD!" If anything, they need to design a newer, fresher logo. Don't be like San Francisco and move into the past, move into the future.

I agree. Which is why I don't want to see a straight adaptation of the throwbacks. I would like to see them adopt "modernized" versions of them with a more contemporary sleeve stripe design and the use of the new, better logo on the helmet with a blue facemask. Also, as mentioned above, blue pants to pair with the white jerseys on the road wouldn't hurt.

they look better than the stormtrooper look.

have to disagree with you on that one.

I think thats their best and most classic look...even more so then the blue jerseys. Though I will say that I prefer the Jets' all white look to that of the Colts. The difference with the Jets is that they have more green on the sleeves to help break up the white a bit more. On top of that I find the Jets' green pants to work quite nicely while the Colts were never able to pull off the blue pants for some reason. It always looked forced and out of place. Maybe because they didn't have enough blue in the white jersey.

They don't look that bad, just not as good as all white looks. Colts could pull off all white at home. Never cared for the blue jerseys.

I agree, actually. I usually don't like white on white looks, but the Colts pull it off. The white on blue look is alright, it isn't bad by any means. It's just not as good as the all whites.

No helmets, no forward passes, and no players of color! :P

What about the Seahawks? With the team doing a complete overhaul and distancing themselves from the Holmgren era, is there any chance they will change uniforms to coincide with the new regime? Maybe a reach back into the old look in some way? Sark did it with UW and it was very popular. Anyone know if Carroll and the Hawks may do something similar?

The Colts tried blue pants back in the mid 90s.

They are universally hated by everyone in central Indiana.

I wouldn't expect them to return anytime soon.

Other than the white belt that gives the pants a certain leisure suitish flavor, I never understood why so many people disliked this look so much. And I hope no one says "Because it bucks tradition," because if a team has ever packed up moving vans in the middle of the night to slink out of town, all claims on "tradition" are pretty much inapplicable, IMHO...

I didn't like the blue pants at the time - at first glance, the uni looked really unbalanced. I didn't see them too much though, since the Colts weren't on a lot then, so I'd definitely give them another chance. I'm really not a fan of the all white. Actually, I'm not a fan of the Colts look in general, mostly because it's an uber-traditional look for a team that played in a dome, and now plays in an airplane hanger.

I will say that the Colts' blue pants were way better than the Lions' blue pants that were worn that year. I did see those a lot, and they were the suck. The only thing worse than those pants were the gray socks.

They'd probably look a helluva lot better in today's more shimmery fabric so I'd at least like to see how it'd look on the field.

I hope not. The Seahawks have one of the most fitting identities in all of pro sports. I can't imagine how they'd improve upon what they have now.

Maybe it's only because of the past 2 horrible years but, as nice as the current set is, I feel like they need some sort of a change... anything different. Maybe it's just bringing back the retro look a couple times a season?
