Plus, does Pete really think all of those young wideouts can actually step up and take over the #1 spot?

Better question: does Pete really think at all?

You know... Sometimes I do wonder that. I guess all of those years in the Southern California sun can really rot your brain.

Deion Branch is easily their #1. Mike Williams must really have gotten his act together to be a #2 or in the slot.

Filed under "No :censored: Sherlock". If he wasn't the starter after that preseason, the Rams coaching staff would be completely unqualified to hold their positions. (Instead they are mostly unqualified BA-ZING!!)

And in a move that will surprise no one, Matt Leinart has been cut by the Cardinals. SI Link.

I think the word we're looking for is bust. I said it then (you can look it up) and I'll say it now; the Cardinals never should have drafted this guy. He had bust written all over him. Welcome to the Derek Anderson era Cardinals fans. When he's good (which is not nearly as often as you'd like) Anderson is decent. When he's bad (which is way more often than you'd like) well...the phrase look out below comes to mind.

Not only do I see Leinart going to Seattle, I can see scenario were Reggie Bush leaves the Saints after this season and joins Peter Carroll too.

Therefore you officially have no idea on the success of USC early draft picks:

Since 2000, USC has has eight first-round picks: Reggie Bush,Matt Leinart, Mike Williams, Mike Patterson, Kenechi Udeze, Carson Palmer, Troy Polamu, and R. Jay Soward. The success rate of USC first-round picks has been suspect and only two have made the Pro Bowl, Palmer and Polamalu (Malauga did not play last season). 2nd round guys have included Jacob Rogers, Dominique Byrd, Frostee Rucker and Lofa Tatupu

Outside of Steve Smith where are the following later in the draft: Dwayne Jarrett Sedrick Ellis, Keith Rivers, Sam Baker, Terrell Thomas, John David Booty, Fred Davis, and Lawrence Jackson. Even they have not been a Pro bowl players and the lineman are so it seems are not NFL material.

More than anything, I think Pete Carroll wants to distance himself from his 'glory days' at USC, rather than try to relive them.

The scandal that's gone down at USC since the moment he left has pretty much tarnished Carroll's legacy. I would imagine since he aborted ship in Southern Cal, coupled with the quickly aborted LenDale experiment, that Pete just wants to move on from that chaper of his career and keep former Trojans as far from Seattle as possible.

One bad season and Housh gets the axe.

*sigh* Really? OK, has a lot of money owed to him. That should never be a reason to cut anyone. Plus, does Pete really think all of those young wideouts can actually step up and take over the #1 spot?

Easy to say when it's not your money. If you meant it in the context of teams not putting themselves in that position through poor personnel decisions and so on, sure, but inevitably it happens and money is always going to be a factor when decisions are made.

In a move I don't expect anyone other than me (and possibly Bucfan56) to care about, the Buccaneers finally cut Michael Clayton. I still don't understand how the heck that guy survived seven years on the team, let alone in the league. Had a great rookie year...and it all fell off from there. But then, WR never really has been a position of much success throughout the Buccaneers' history.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

Much less had George Clooney play him in a movie. ^_^

Therefore you officially have no idea on the success of USC early draft picks (And apparently, neither do I):

Since 2000, USC has has eight (ten) first-round picks: Reggie Bush,Matt Leinart, Mike Williams, Mike Patterson, Kenechi Udeze, Carson Palmer, Troy Polamu, R. Jay Soward, Clay Matthews, and Brian Cushing. The success rate of USC first-round picks has been suspect (Not any worse than other schools, really) and only two (Um four) have made the Pro Bowl, Matthews, Cushing, Palmer, and Polamalu (Malauga did not play last season).

Fixed for accuracy. You as well seemed to forget

Mark Sanchez

Matt Cassell

And on Buc's post about Michael Clayton, good riddance. He was the biggest waste of space on that roster, and that's saying something. I was at a game vs the Niners where he cost the Bucs the game because he couldn't keep his feet in bounds on a TD catch while being covered by literally nobody. Have fun working at McDonalds with Jamarcus Russell.

This pick may be controversial IS patently ridiculous, but I think Baltimore is going to beat Carolina in the Super Bowl.

FYP

Fixed your FYP.

Fair enough.

Panhead, I meant no offense but if you're going to toss out something that...well, questionable, at least tell us something about your reasoning. Otherwise people will be reaching for their cans of Troll-Be-Gone.

I have my reasons. The Panthers have a great running tandem of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Also, Matt Moore was impressive in limited action last year. (For every interception he threw, he threw four touchdowns.) And most of the games he's started, the Panthers have won. I think of him as a low-rent Kyle Orton in that sense. I know this is a risky pick, but I didn't make it without reason. By the way, the Troll-Be-Gone line was hilarious. I'm not offended by it at all.

Isn't Kyle Orton already low rent?

Well yeah. What I meant was a lower-rent Kyle Orton.

Ocho wants him back according to his twitter.

Did he already forget that T.O. is on the other side?

If I were them I'd be comfortable with the receivers I have.

They've got Antonio Bryant too.

If they added Houshmandzadeh that would definitely bolster the position.

Hey Browns, call him up.
