Counterfeiters have no problem stitching wordmarks on fake jerseys. I don't think giftshop jerseys reading "Sears Tower" or whatever else are a big enough threat to teams that they have to add wordmarks to distinguish their works. (Well, outside of the lack of pinline numbers, but that's an NCAA mandate, so whatcha gonna do.) And judging from Teambuilder, it seems like there will not only be a return of the maroon pants, but a gold alternate. Yeesh. It's not like these uniforms look like FSU and the others didn't, but the addition of maroon pants will contribute to that I guess.I actually really like the update. UA definitely has something going here with the sublimated shoulder patterns they have used for their line of uniforms for this fall, but their pants design looks atrocious and apparently interferes with classic stripes. I see no issues with the changes, except that they do look a bit like Florida State. I just hope they don't do an all gold alt. Why you make fun of me? Ugly or not, at least it was consistent across all teams and uniforms, and worked to strengthen BC's branding. These numbers look awkward to me if they don't match up to the official athletic font. So, basically if it was completely different. But I do like the idea of gold numbers. I know I like all the pics of the Saints with gold numbers that get posted every once in a while. I'm not completely sold on the wordmark, but overall it's a good look. Adidas seems to have a good track record with the transition to the TechFit template.
