Lights Out
Brian Wilson's quickly become one of my favorite baseball players. He has swag, and he breaks the mold of what people expect pro athletes to act like. Oh, and he's good, too. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

Sport
I like Brian Wilson too, but can we stop using the word "swag"? It's become the new "legit". I'm really jealous of his Back to the Future Part II shoes. If I woke up tomorrow with his money, those shoes are probably one of the first 5 things I'd buy. Instead I have to wait until they're widely available in 2015.

crashcarson15
This thread just got Clevejacked again.I'd rather live in Toronto for free than get paid to live in Cleveland. Oh and remember how the Blue Jays won back to back world series in the early 90's? A lot of that had to do with free agent players choosing to live and work in Canada. Just be glad you don't have to listen to Cleveland sports talk shows. They're nothing but calls like "We have the best park and the best fans. All we need is for the people who run our teams to get their heads out of their asses." They believe that all the Indians need to do is spend the money on a free agent like Fielder and then trade some prospects to get a top tier corner outfielder and a top tier corner infielder. They believe the front office and ownership won't make such simple moves because ownership is too cheap and the front office is too stupid. As if all it would take to get Fielder or a top tier FA would be for Larry Dolan to OK spending the money.I'd really like to say that I'm exaggerating, but if anything, I'm underselling it. And now we've taken to bashing Canada? Just when I think it can't get any worse. Oh well, Go Browns...for now. And when they trade some prospects to get top tier players, they bitch and moan about throwing away the future.

IceCap
Seriously, crash and infrared seem to be the only Cleveland fans here that don't make want to wish damnation on the entire city.Onto something pleasant though. The Jays' performance last night proved why this team is going to be a hot free agent destination. For the first time in a while I have hope in the Blue Jays' future. This team is on the upswing. FiddySicks
Oh he's harmless. Other than growing a beard, wearing orange shoes, an having an eccentric personality, he hasn't really done anything worth pissing people off. I like him because he's not your typical robot player but he's not a detriment to the game either. Those type of guys are my favorite in the sport. It's kinda "douchey" I guess, but in the long run it's SO innocent. Plus, the dude is a work horse and is damn good at what he does. But I guess I've always had an affinity for players like that. My three favorite ball players I've ever watched are Nick Swisher, Eric Byrnes, and Brian Wilson. FiddySicks
Why? He fits perfectly. A dude who works his tail off yet still has personality. Why the hate for Wilson and Swisher? LetsGoOakland9
Byrnes wasn't over the top like Wilson. He didnt try to have a big personality like Wilson does. He was known for going all out all the time, and being different than the average baseball player (and driving a VW van). He wasn't known for having a big obnoxious beard and saying stupid stuff. Byrnes just was different, Wilson goes out of his way to be different

They build through prospects, and it's paying off. We're not going after Fielder for a number of reasons. He'll never want to play in Cleveland, he would cost too much, and like I said we build through prospects. It gives us an advantage over other teams in the division because we'll have this solid group of young players for the next 5 years or so.

A lot of it is pretty controversial as well. It's different than Wildon's, sure. But in the long run all three of them are harmless. Why a few odd comments and a long beard raises so much ire from some people is beyond my understanding.
