Sure, Tank. The MAC. With Marshall.

Now if you mean in the MAC while setting up a rivalry with Marshall, then maybe. I just don't see them wanting to be in the MAC. Yes, the C-USA currently stretches to El Paso and down to Orlando (travel to Mt Pleasant and Buffalo isn't too fun either) but it features teams from a region that would get more attention from the App State fan base. They're more likely to care about a southeastern team than Central Michigan or Buffalo.

Conference Realignment sucks especially in the nobody cares conferences like the MAC and Conference USA

I actually care about every conference and I'm sure the fans of the the teams in those "nobody cares" conferences they care too.

Just because you have egg on your face because you said Marshall was in the MAC (when as Geoff pointed out) they've been in the CUSA for 7 years doesn't mean you can belittle the mid major conferences as nobody cares conferences.

I actually have more of a fondness for the mid majors over the likes of SEC and Big Ten but I care about all conferences and watch any teams play.

I think the NCAA should just give the death penalty to all 120 FBS programs. They're all obviously cheating, so why not join the NBA in just not playing this season? :P

But seriously, this charade of NCAA athletes who make their schools millions and get punished for getting anything (other than a scholarship) of value in return can't keep up for much longer. The system is literally falling apart more and more each day.

Things are getting shady in Baton Rouge.

The police confiscated 49 pairs of shoes from Jordan Jefferson's apartment.

49 pairs? Hello NCAA Grim Reaper.

And then their's this

Hey Jordan Jefferson. It's me, your football career. Yeah, listen, I think we should split up. It's not you it's, well, actually it is you. You're being a moron, and it's turning me off. And to think, you could have had millions. Sorry, but I need a more successful man to guide me through my life.

The NCAA just looks worse everyday.

I like the guy who was at Miami Paul Dee, he was part of the NCAA punishment committee that slammed USC, but now says its impossible to keep an eye on boosters when he blasted USC when they tried the same excuse.

The NCAA truly needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the bottom up.

He just got a new pair every week from the equipment room or kept some from 7 on 7 camps and such. I knew guys in college who got new Nikes every other week.

Heck, Doug Gottleib said that he has over 60 pairs from college as he never wore a game shoe after a loss and in one season OK State lost 11 games.

I'm behind the times on this, but how realistic is the death penalty here?

I'd put it at slightly higher than 50%. The NCAA has to do something but there is the risk of significant damage to a BCS conference. When you add that to the fact that several other ACC programs have already had brushes with the NCAA recently and some are currently in trouble, you really have to tread carefully, as penalties could have a spillover effect. The NCAA doesn't want to cause the collapse of the ACC like how the SWC collapsed.

Well sure, but you gotta wonder if this is a prime time to make an example of a major program. There's gotta be some medium that devastates the program fittingly without it being a crushing blow to the conference.

Well, the problem is that the seeds are already there for similar things that caused the downfall of the SWC. There are rumors of teams jumping ship to another conference (Arkansas left for the SEC) and a lot of programs are in trouble with the NCAA (take your pick from the SWC teams). Basically, Miami getting demolished would probably be a signal to certain teams to get the :censored: out of Dodge because the death penalty would certainly come with TV bans and such and such when they were allowed to resume football, which means any team that played Miami would lose out on TV revenue, and certain teams would be required to play Miami every year. So, the way I see it, destroying Miami could very well destroy the ACC. Nobody wants that. As much as the ACC's true football glory days are past us, no one wants one of the bulwarks against the SEC to disappear. SEC fans are intolerable enough as is.
