HOW CAN A TEAM NAMED THE BROWNS NOT HAVE A BROWN HELMET AND PANTS?

Because they're named after a man/family and not a color.

Thats Racist?

Pointing out that Paul Brown's last name has nothing to do with the color by the same name is racist? blink.gif

There's a HUGE difference between a "rebranding" (which it says in the thread subtitle) and a tweak.

You're absolutely correct, and I've since revised the subtitle from 'rebrand' to 'rebrand or major tweaking' .... which I meant initially but failed to put in the subtitle.

Sorry about that folks ...

Tennessee: I had mentioned initially, but didn't elaborate .... many reasons, mainly because I like their alternate logo better than their primary and think it would look much better on the helmets, and their home uniform set with the sky blue jersey and navy shoulder yokes along with the navy pants has gotten so old I can hardly bear looking at them. Why they don't at the very least break out white pants I just don't understand.

I actually liked their look better after they did the nickname change in 1999 and wore the navy jerseys with white pants at home and the white with navy on the road..

1056.gif

J-E-T-S: I'd like to see them to ditch that oval shaped logo they concocted in '98 and make it pointed and shaped like a football again like it was back in the day, and mount it on an angle like it was when they won Super Bowl III.

Shelf the Titans of NY throwbacks once & for all, they're way past their sell-by date. For throwbacks bring back Kelly Green of 1963 with the Jet plane logo.

cc6af8b4657919bce1076651588d8b6c.image.120x120.jpg

REDSKINS: Go back to the 2002 faux throwback look that was based on their '65-'69 uniform that we all saw for their 70th anniversary season

EAGLES: Bring back the Kelly green ... At the very least use them as a throwback twice a season rather than black, which is just all wrong for them.

RAIDERS: Go back to the the silver jersey numbers with black outline on the white jerseys.

BILLS: Quit teasing us already and break out those blue away pants!!! ... Ohhh, and the widening of the helmet stripe in the back, no ... it just doesn't work.

BROWNS: Bring back the orange pants to wear on an intermittent basis,

STEELERS: Can they finally return to the block numbers??

JAX: Go back to the Tony Boselli era uni's (late 90s early to mid 00's) with the Jaguar on the sleeve, and return teal back to the away jerseys, starting with the numbers and pant striping.

BENGALS: Switch the orange alternate jerseys to primary, make the black ones the alternate.

CHARGERS: Probably the most popular throwback uni in NFL history yet the Spanos' refuse to bring them back permanently. They should return to those and use the Dan Fouts era blue uniform with yellow pants and face-mask as throwbacks.

MIAMI: A team I've hated for my entire life, but I must be objective .......... Ross is talking about a major redesign, totally unnecessary. I may not like the team but those are classic uniforms which do not need any tweaking or redesign. If anything bring back the rays on the sunburst if they insist on doing any tweaking if ever so slight.

COLTS: Bring back the blue away pants with the black shoes that were worn for 3 games back in 1995. I thought they looked superb!!

colts_bluepants1995.jpg

and to all teams that are wearing that toilet-seat collar ... ELIMINATE!!!

As we saw on the NY Giants blue jerseys the Flywire collar can exist without making ¾ of the collar a different color and pointed

Ok, now that major tweak is in the title I feel comfortable posting, because no team needs a complete rebrand. If you are on the Pail Lukas Politically Correct Bandwagon, then I guess you could say the redskins do....but I'm not one of those people

To me, no uniform is perfect. All of them could use tweaks, like the redskins logo, the steelers/packers jersey numbers, to name a few. But below are the teams that need a more significant change.

Jets- Their current look leaves much to be desired. I'd like to see them change their look to be a little more sleeker and modern. A new logo would be a big part of that.

Patriots- I'd love to see them go back to a red home jersey to start. But I've never liked Flying Elvis or their current template. Soif it were up to me they should do a big overhaul, but considering they wore these uniforms in their most successful era...I doubt they will

Ravens- I'd like to see a big overhaul after Ray Lewis leaves. There isn't much I would keep. Purple should be regulated to a secondary, making black the new primary. And they need a new logo/helmet design.

Browns- self explanatory, but I'd settle for just a new helmet

Jaguars- I wish they would ditch there new look and go back to their old Unis, if they wanted to tweak that it would be ok. Or just bring gold back into the design.

Broncos- I like that they went back to Orange, But I think it would look much better in a completely different design. An updated Elway era look would probably be the way to go.

Chargers- Only thing about their updated look I liked was the helmet, they need to ditch everything else and start again. I know everyone loves the powder blue, and I do too, but the reason they shut switch to that as the main color is because it fits better with the city. Especially if they are the team that goes to LA they should switch.

Eagles- Need an overhaul, new shade of green, new design, and a full bodied eagle secondary logo would be nice. As a fan I hate our current look.

Cowboys- Helmet and throwback are fine, even the blue jersey is good. But the home white uniform needs major work. And considering how often they wear it I consider that a major tweak

Vikings- outside of the horned helmet they need to get rid of their current Falcon knockoff look. And never ever wear all purple again. They also need to update their logo.

Panthers- it's a new era down there, so I think they should take this opportunity to overhaul the uniform. Colors are fine, but a sleeker less generic look should be the goal.

Rams- They should go back to their old colors but go with a new design for the uniform.

Seahawks- I get what Nike was trying to do, but to me it just didn't work. Keep the new colors, but ditch everything else.

Cardinals- go back to their old simpler sans piping look. I always liked the Arizona flag on the sleeve look that a lot of concepts have

Ya know I don't like the pats uniforms design wise, BUT, (and this is a big butt :P) I LOVE the way they always keep the same color scheme and I love the way the stripes socks pair with the away uniform. One wouldn't think a silver helmet with a red mask would look good by they definitely make it work.

So if they just simplified to a more traditional design but kept the same color scheme I think they would have one of the best looks in the league.

I liked the red numbers and the pants striping that tied into the helmet, but to each his own. At the time, the stripes may have seemed goofy to some, but 20 years later they'd be tame in comparison to Atlanta, Jacksonville, Arizona, Minnesota, etc.

my preferences

1. Browns- orange pants that's it and the flying elf logo

2. Vikings- purple people eaters throwbacks full time

3. Steelers- block numerals and letterings and black cleats... keep the emblem on the jersey and maybe grey facemask

4. jaguars- bring back the gold

5. eagles- bring back the kelly green and add silver a little bit more

6. rams- 1999 era unis nuff said or never mind bring back the 1999 unis

7. giants- red jersey or add the 1986 home unis as an alternate

8. lions- like their current set, would prefer the barry era unis with the combination of the current new logo and font ditch the black

9. jets- love their look, get rid of the Titand of New York look and bring back the NY sack exchange unis as an alt

10. chiefs. no problem at all with their unis just add black cleats and grey facemask

11. panthers- good time for a overhaul

12. bengals- overhaul

13. cowboys- bring back the 1981-1995 blue uniforms back

14. dolphins- modernize the logo, dump the navy blue, bring back the marino era unis circa 1984 and we got a winner

15 49ers- three stripes and they're in

16. chargers- gold pants as another option

17. patriots- i would say get rid of the striped socks and add black cleats.

18 titans- more emphasis on red

Well, I honestly think the Vikings look better like,

Just go back to the 1961-1999 purple.

I don't like how the Cowboys uniform is. I think it makes them look out of place and really doesn't look like a great combination. I'd say that they should ditch the silver and go with something better. Keep the current logo, but ditch silver and the metallic cyan pants all together. They should go back to their 1960-1963 look. Not their throwbacks they wear occasionally, but a new design with the dark royal blue and white color scheme.

The Rams should make a modify version of their royal blue and yellow-gold (athletic gold) 1973-1999 look. Use the new number fonts and style. Add a white shine (good size streak that can corporate the white in the uniform) on top of the rams horns to add a little white to the uniform. Make the yellow-gold pants have a blue single stripe with a little white shine so it could match the horns style. The facemask should be yellow-gold as well to make the dark royal blue helmets pop (the horns and facemask would make it pop). I am making this one as well as the Cowboy one as we speak. Still not finished yet.

The 49ers should brighten the red that they have. Use the 1981-1995 scarlet red. That was much brighter and fare better than the dingy red they use now. The 1996-2008 uniforms were horrible and I hope the black is not part of their uniforms anymore. It makes the uniform too messy and the black is needed to the logo so it can pop from the helmet, but not on the uniforms like the 1996-2008 ones.

New Orleans Saints really need to go back to this (because I like the Louisiana state incorporated on their uniforms);

The Jets are alright, except for a few things. The logo should be like their 1964-1966 combined with their 1978-1989 wordmark. Imagine this and this together.

lcetxlxev3xd2tt3n3gy5xh3d.gif5gtfjeljv9kf52bdv9otg3fhf.gif

What I mean is place the 1978-1989 wordmark inside the 1964-1966 or the 1967-1977 logo replacing the Jets inside of it to make the logo pop. The green and be better. I'd say they should use this green. Dark Spring Green is not too dark as Hunter Green :( But it will work :)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_green_(color)#Dark_spring_green

The Browns do not need a change. The only thing they need is white facemask and orange pants. Or this set, 1981_Cleveland.png

Courtesy of Gridiron Uniforms

The Eagles just need to ditch charcoal grey and keep the silver and black. No more black alts please. Just make silver pants for both and fix the wings on the helmets to where it will pop. More feathers and not some unfinished job.

Jaguars should just ditch teal altogether and go for something like black helmets and black uniform. Keep the gold, but make the tongue of the jaguar red instead. Just utilize the black and gold colors. Not too similar to the Steelers (the all black to yellow-gold pants) and the Saints (old gold helmets and all). Just black helmets and black uniforms and white pants. Their away should be black helmets and all white. The numbers could be black with gold trim on the white while the black jerseys should be gold with white trim. Facemask would be either black or white. I could say white, black, on white uniforms for the Jaguars since a white helmet would work on them, but the black helmet will work.

Baltimore should try to make something else work. Maybe go back to the 1996-1998 look with a new helmet logo and not use the stupid block shadows numbers. I liked this look,1996_Baltimore.png

Courtesy of Gridiron Uniforms

If I was them, I would use that and forget the white pants. That just makes the uniform as tacky as the Jaguars black on teal on white look. The Ravens black on purple on white look is confusing. I like their black on purple on black look. Also, if they go for this look, make sure the pants stripe match the helmets (the white stripe on the pants should go on the helmet for a simple and clean look).

Odd, but every set you posted was from a year where the team finished last in the division.
