I was browsing neweracaptalk.com earlier today and came across a poster who claimed that the Blue Jays were against using the maple leaf BP cap but were basically forced to by New Era so they cold use them for national holidays. He even provided this photograph of what looks like two other potential prototypes for BP hats for them.

It makes me wonder if the BPs will change more than every three years.

There was also talk that the Giants were looking at a BP cap that included a trolley car, but scrapped the idea at the last second.

What are we looking at there above the Yankees hat?

I want that Jays cap on the far right. Perfect modernization of the classic cap they ditched midway through the '93 season.

I would have bought one of those in a heartbeat. We already have a maple leaf on our caps/jerseys and those Canada Day uniforms. Come on MLB!

I'm not sure if it was posted in here before, I believe it was. But on lids.com I just saw the 4th of July hats they are going to use. I'm not gonna lie, little disappointed they are going with the BP material. I don't know why, I just don't prefer it. To use them here and there in games is fine, but for the special edition games and hats like Stars and Stripes, I prefer the regular hats. Not that it's going to prevent me from buying it, I get every Stars and Stripes hat. Having 3 this year though is really hurting my wallet.

I noticed that the back of Buck Showalter's jacket has an Orioles script in place of Harmon Killebrew. Anyone know what's up with that?

I always thought this was funny as well and I'm not sure the reason but Showalter always wears the dugout jackets from maybe five or more years ago before they had the batterman logo.

I found this clip which shows the back of Buck's jacket...what i found my interesting was that Home Place Umpire Angel Hernandez has a snap back hat. I wonder what the reason behind this is, I've never seen that before.

New Era and the Blue Jays made the right decision... those Maple Leaf BP hats are everywhere in the city. Especially now that it's cool to like the Jays again.

I didn't really care for them when they were first leaked, but they instantly grew on me. They're great looking hats.

It looks like Wilma Flintstone.

Jackets (some at least) have had the batter man logo going back into the 1990s.

No it's definitely the Nats. Orioles BP has an orange front panel

Looks like an unreleased one, possibly with this logo?

This may sound weird, but I'm gonna say it's an Indians prototype. It looks like there is a feather next to the glare.

Seriously that is a Nationals one. It's very hard to see but the curly W is there. I think the Blue Jays and the Braves were the only two teams that had more than one prototype.
