Ohio State is supposedly getting the Oregon treatment this upcoming season. That is according to this Reddit post...

ill start by saying i have NO direct connection to the football team or OSU athletics, so i probably wouldnt hear about this even if they were doing it.

that said, i doubt this is true. what they've done with the rebranding, and knowing how conservative they are in the apparel side, and knowing how strong of a brand this is, ima call BS on the "like Oregon" thing. another Pro Combat uni? sure, i expect that. but i dont see a major overhaul going down

I think what they might do is switch templates to the chain mail (sp?) mesh one that oregon has

Well they already kinda did that with the rivalry uniform but if they'd been eligible I think we'd have seen them change already.

Ohio State has been against black shirts for years. I can't see them jumping on this bandwagon so late unless it was bringing back a classic uniform. I want to see the big shoulder numbers return to the unis. That was something I grew up with that stood out from everyone else.

I see that Limestone is trying to compete with Tulsa with being the most pathetically trendy team uniform wise.

I love the FDL. The charging FDL however, is idiotic.

there is nothing to like about this helmet...it sure is ugly but the JAGS helmet still holds the title of ugliest helmet of all time.

^ That kind of helmet would fit right in Arena Football. I don't think it's bad, but it just the best fit in football aesthetics.

I was watching an interview with Bielema just now and he was asked about uniforms. He said that "we have been invited out to Nike a couple of times" and we'll be "jumping in to an agreement next year for a line that is only available to a couple of schools." Anyone have any clue what he could be talking about here?

He's probably referring to the special cut with the chainmail mesh that Oregon and Bama wear.

Thanks! That definitely makes sense. I know he has already said that we will be going back to a more conservative look next season in regards to the actual design. Couple using that new material with some team specific accessories like bucknut suggested and I will be a happy man. After 6 years of modern designs, I am ready to go back to that classic look.

That's a shame because this years unis are the best they've looked in a while. It sucks to have so many teams in the SEC West with similar colors and uniforms.

Yeah it's been pretty annoying that since Darren McFadden's freshman year we have switched to new uniforms every two years exactly. Just when you start liking a uniform it is gone. We've also been all over the board with styles. The DMac uniforms were perfect and then we dump those to go with a generic Adidas striping monstrosity. I was really excited to hear the changes that they were making to the current set for this season (removing the gradient from the #'s and adding a red hog logo to the white helmets) and was hoping we could settle in to them for a handful of seasons.

However, Bielema has said at multiple alumni events since he has been hired that he prefers a more conservative look and that we will be going back to more traditional uniforms next year.

I'm curious if he would go back to the DMac era uniforms considering that they were somewhat similar to Wisconsin.

what is there to really like about those? the entire uniform is a direct ripoff of oklahoma. even worse than the nebraska-wisconsin fiasco.

Arkansas wore that uniform with the double stripe on the pants from at least the late 50's until Danny Ford became our coach in the mid 90's. There is lots of history in that uniform and its definitely not just some recent random Oklahoma ripoff despite the similarities.

Trust me, as a Badger fan the two things Brett Bielema loves the most are boring, classic, jerseys, and wasting game clock at the end of close games. Thank you Gary Andersen for saving us from both!

That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen... if those ever see the field I'm going to quit following sports aesthetics. (I'm talking about the masks with "CATS" or "TULSA" on them... and I'm not really going to quit.)

Once again, I ask, do any of you think it's strange when a brand new member comes in to hype up a specific business or website, as though its something they just stumbled across and wanted to share.
