Ohio State up 48-0 over FAMU, 4th and 5, with 27 seconds left in the first half, with first string still in. They go for it, make the first down, hurry up, and throw a touchdown...

Big ol' bag o' dicks right there. Fvck you, Ohio State.

Many coaches feel that you score as many points as you can in the first half, even if everyone knows that one side is vastly superior to the other.

Doesn't make it any less of a dick move. It's 4th and 5, and there's 27 seconds left; kick the damn field goal.

Kicking the FG insults the other coaches/team more than going for it on 4th down....at least the defense has the possibility of stopping the offense. The special teams unit has less of a chance preventing a kick being made.

And good luck telling any coach to stop running up the score in the first half of a game. Their mindset will always be "No matter how many points we scored in the first half, the other team can score just as many in the second", and they'll keep their foot on the gas until like midway through the third.

ASU isn't gonna come back to beat Stanford this week, but way to hang tough. This team is fun to watch.

All of my friends are Ohio State fans and so am I, but in more on the fence. Seems like when we get to the last few games we begin to suck. A few years ago at a friend's early Thanksgiving party,OSU and Michigan were playing and I was the only one who was saying Michigan would win because Ohio State just sucked that year. Soon after I was the only one in a pretty decent mood :) I have been somewhat of a follower of Wisconsin. They seem more consistent despite having some losses here and there year in and year out.

Wut? So what I got out of that is your friends all like OSU, and you like Wisconsin.

Cool story bro.

Would you have preferred that they really insult FAMU and just take a knee? First off, everyone plays the starters for the entire first half. Second, it's probably more insulting to FAMU if the Buckeyes don't try to score at that point. Third, don't blame Ohio State because FAMU couldn't stop them. Finally, it's not Ohio State's fault that Vanderbilt *backed out of this game and they had to scramble to schedule FAMU. Imagine that, a mighty SEC team *backing out of a game against a Big Ten team.

Anyway, I'm not exactly thrilled that my team hung 76 points on a hapless opponent, but the Buckeyes were playing bottom of the depth chart guys in the second half and FAMU still couldn't stop them. Other than just kneeling three times on each offensive possession, what were they supposed to do?

*I'm not really sure why Vanderbilt rescheduled. So I'm going with the "SEC team chickens out and doesn't play Ohio State" version of events. It's entirely possible that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

My goodness, this Notre Dame team is just simply not good.

I can't wait for October 5th. Having ASU take down the Golden Domers (which I really think they can do) under such a spotlight would be HUGE for this program.

No, I wouldn't have preferred they take a knee. I would have preferred they kick the field goal, like they probably would have against any half decent FBS team. It felt to me like they did it just so Guiton could get the record, since he wouldn't be playing in the second half. The rest of the game didn't bother me; that's just what happens when a good FBS team plays a not so good FCS team. But those two plays were clearly just to pad stats.

Wasn't San Diego State the replacement game for Vanderbilt?

Ohio State scraps 2020-21 football series with UGA.

Things happen.

Went to the Cincinnati - Miami (OH) game yesterday. Yager Stadium is one of my favorite places. Cincinnati only won 14-0, but had 24 first downs to Miami's 4, and held Miami to just 87 yards. Miami did, however, have 429 yards punting yesterday, including a monstrous 88 yard punt, which got applause from everybody in the stadium. And I'm pretty sure that I was sitting behind former Cincinnati basketball walk-on Alex Meachem for most of the game.

But I just read this morning that last night 3 freshman football players (who didn't dress, but traveled to the game and sat in the stands) were involved in a one car accident, taking the life of one, with one is stable condition and the other in critical condition. Really sad stuff.

I don't get why it's that big of a deal. Who cares if they went for it? The only difference would have been the score if they would've knelled there. It honestly just isn't that big of a deal, and isn't worth anyone's time to read.

Yeah, you guys forget who Ohio State's coach is.

Look up "winning graciously" in the dictionary and you'll find a picture of anyone other than Urban Meyer. Or Bret Bielema.

Pretty sure it's the same guy who was coaching the Buckeyes when they hung 63 on Nebraska last season. I think the Buckeyes scored a :censored: you TD with just a few seconds left in the game too. Right? B)

Baylor is averaging 69.7 points a game through 3. Leading the nation in passing, and 7th in rushing. Outscoring their opponents 219-23 so far.

Granted, it's been against garbage teams, but the fact that they're firing on all cylinders this early on is fun to watch. The 1st string has yet to play more than probably 40 minutes in a game so far, too. They had 35 on the board against ULM before the end of the 1st.

1st team since 1930 to put up 60+ in its first three, if I remember correctly. This Baylor team is gonna be a fun one to follow this year.

So at what point do the "system QB" accusations start? :P

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

To a degree, you can already say that: Kevin Kolb, Case Keemum, RGIII, Nick Florence and now Bryce Petty

Art Briles was at Stephenville HS for 11 years before he was hired at Texas Tech as RB Coach. He ran the spread at his HS.

Two years later, he was hired as the HC for the Houston Cougars and was able to get former Stephenville HS, Kevin Kolb to de-commit from Okie State to start as a true Freshman at Houston. He coached Keenum for his Freshman redshirt before going to Baylor, but UH kept the same offense. And we all know about Baylor.
