ESPN hid this out of selfishness so they could have a 'feel-good' story going into the BCS championship for ratings. Typical espn.

Funny, when they were promoting the BCSCG they said it would get the highest tv ratings ever for a CFB game. It was the second lowest rated BCSCG in the last 5 years.

Dang, I need to get out this truck more often...I don't be knowing what nothing is no more. How long has all this stuff been out?

(By the way, the fact that I'm going on 31 has nothing to do with any of this...)

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one.

Am I the odd one then for being 32 and knowing what all those were?

After reading a bunch of articles, and hearing a bunch of opinions, one thing that strikes me more than anything....

You're a star LB for the #1 team in the Nation, and you supposedly rely on the Internet for a girlfriend?

I understand the ladies in South Bend aren't the cream of the college crop, but c'mon man. Seriously?

That's basically what I heard Stephen A. say on the radio as well.

Also why would you not go and be with her after she had her accident and after she was diagnosed with leukemia?

Also why you would not go to the funeral but you know things like the precise time when the casket was closed?

Its so bad its almost preferable if he is lying about some aspects of the story, because if he is telling the truth that means he is one of the most gullible and moronic people walking the earth and I would have serious concerns if he can even handle living on his own, let alone play in the NFL.

If ESPN PR guy Josh Krulewitz is to be believed they knew of the story but were in the process of vetting it and were not ready to go public with it yet.

Then again, another ESPN higher up trashed Deadspin and ripped them for calling themselves journalists.

With a 24 month story, there were major media outlets (NBC, Sports Illustrated) with long time journalists and small media outlets (South Bend Tribune), who along with ESPN all failed to check out the entire story.

That is the much bigger failure.

As far as I know they're not anti-photography.

Donny and Marie were all over the TV back in the day, so you're probably right.

Or maybe the fact that if they were wrong, they could be sued for millions. They probably wanted to make sure it was ALL correct before releasing.

But hey, just hate ESPN, that works too.

ESPN's Bob Holtzman is on campus and says no one he's spoken to believes Te'o had anything to do with the. Shocking...

They have to follow the narrative which Swarbrick mapped out during the press conference.

Plus, TMZ has claimed all day that the every athletic department employee was told not to talk at all.

One person connected to the program tells us ... officials have warned staff, if they speak to the media about the scandal without permission from the University, they will "never work for Notre Dame again."

Why did deadspin beat them to "the facts"? ESPN should be hated on. The TMZ of sports. TEBOW!

IIRC "the facts" were confirmed last month. So they wouldn't had got sued. They were just covering for a team they fell in love with and they didn't want them to look bad

If anything, Deadspin is the TMZ of sports.

Yup, ESPN and Deadspin aren't so different. They really aren't. One just has more money but there is an E in ESPN for a reason.
