Cujo
NFL #2 - Denver Broncos (raised in Colorado)MLB #2 - Arizona Diamondbacks (all games broadcast in New Mexico)NHL #2 - Los Angeles Kings (currently living in SoCal)The older I get, the more and more I find myself supporting some teams which are a little more local to where I've lived. It's actually starting to feel as if I should've been supporting some of these teams all along. Part of me almost wants to switch alliances because I'm not shy of my local pride, like maybe I once was when I selected my current faves as a teen. I suppose time will tell.... MDGP
I really don't have second favorites for MLB, NBA, or NFL. I could probably pick one out, but it will likely change over time. However, in the NHL my second favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings due to Jimmy Howard and Nyquist. The UMaine connection runs strong. I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence! tigerslionspistonshabs
I only have a second favorite in the NHL, being the Wings. I'm a Detroiter born and raised, but when my grandfather first came over from England, the Habs were unstoppable and he fell in love with them, passed it on to my dad, who passed it on to me. waltere
Born into being a Mets & Islanders fan, as well as Army football (really got dealt a successful hand there...), have acquired fandom of Liverpool and the Carolina Panthers, those are my teams for life.Don't have such a thing as a true 'second team' behind them really, I'll have other teams I feel favourably inclined to for whatever reason, be it where favourite players are playing, what makes 'a good story' or things like who my created players are playing for in career mode, but none of them ever stick long enough to truly affect the way I'd describe myself in fan terms. 1 hour ago, BringBackTheVet said: sorry sweetie, but I don't suck minor-league d CCSLC Post of the day September 3rd 2012
Arts11
I'm not a "fan" of any teams but my own (Mets/Jets/Rangers), though of course there are teams I don't mind being successful and would always root for against any other opponent than my own allegiance. For instance, I used to live in San Diego, so sure, go Padres. But if they face the Mets, not quite. That sort of thing.ditto. I have my favorites, and then there are teams I have rooting interests in, that I'd personally hesitate to claim fanship for partially because my interest in them are pretty transitory and conditional. FiddySicks
MLB: 1. Giants (Mom's favorite team, mine as well. My favorite team in any sport)2. Cardinals (My dad's favorite team)3. A's (Local team, I worked for them) 4. Diamondbacks (I live in AZ now and have season tickets. It's still only a casual liking though. Even though they're a great team and really fun to watch, I just can't bring myself to fully like a team that's in the same division as the Giants. It's kinda tough living in a town that's home to a division rival. It's hard not to get swept up in the fandom, but it's hard to give 100% enthusiasm as well)NFL: 1. Buccaneers (I picked them when I was really young because their uniforms reminded me of my favorite college team and have been a fan ever since)2. Niners/Raiders (Local teams. They were all I had to watch growing up, so I had to like them somewhat) NHL:1. Sharks (Thanks Puckguy, ICS. Local team as well)2. Flyers (Dunno why, but I've always loved them. I picked them as a young kid and just ran with it)NBA: 1. Lockout2. Anyone Lebron plays for (unless he ever goes to the Lakers)2. Warriors/Kings (Local teams. Hardly care about them though) NCAA: 1. Arizona State (Current school, and the school I'll be graduating from... If it kills me)2. Tennessee (thanks to my dad's side of the family, I've been a Vols fan longer than I've been a fan of any team, and always will be)3. bosrs1
League: 1st (2nd)MLB: Padres (A's) - For 25 years the A's were my only team but in the last 5 years the Padres became second, then equal and now first usurping the position due to proximity, ballpark, and just being more fun to follow overall due in no small part to not being subject of a neverending relocation saga.NBA: Kings (Clippers) - started following the Clippers the last 2 years during the Kings Anaheim/Seattle relocation fiasco courtesy of the Maloofs.NHL: Sharks (no second team)NFL: Patriots (no second team)Soccer: San Jose Earthquakes (Club Tijuana Xolos) - grew up with one, follow the other locally today. As you can tell second teams for me come for either me relocating or the team threatening to relocate or some combination of the two.
