I think red and gold would be best, how many other teams share that color scheme, none i can think of off the top of my head

Red and gold is a solid color scheme too. If we're talking sports in general, Niners are one. But if we're talking MLB, pretty sure it'd be completely unique.

The old Nats uniforms were Red-Gold. Is their batterman still Red-White-Gold?

Speaking of things that resemble the old Nationals unis,, here's the logo for the Yankees-Marlins spring training "legends series" in Panama this weekend. It was not worn as a patch as far as I can tell.

Is this the first time we've seen the marlins logo rendered in flat orange? I kind of like it....

Because the idolizing of Rivera couldn't possibly end after last year.

Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature.

No, not really. Ask anyone who's been in New York for the last couple decades about how they promote those active stars.

That's New York, any major sports star will be well marketed in NY.

If I saw Mike Trout walking down the street the average person wouldn't even know who is.

Even former MLB players say current stars aren't marketed correctly.

You would know A-Rod though. Or Derek Jeter. Or David Ortiz. Pujols. I'd recognize more baseball players than any other sport I think, as would most people.

i think football has it beat, there was half a sorority at my school that had an orgy with Brian Westbrook about 4 years ago, he isn't even a big star compared to the ones you mentioned.

I don't think I could recognize any non-quarterback. Even quarterbacks, it's basically the Manning brothers, Rodgers, and Brady.

That might just be you, but the nfl is Americas most popular league, mlb is a pretty distant second, also you can recognize a football player just by their size, if you dont believe me watch the video where the Red Sox visited Gillette stadium after the World Series and all they were commenting on was how small the Red Sox players were.

So now we're talking about if we can tell someone plays football? That's totally different from knowing who they are. When I was in college, you could tell who played football, but you didn't know their names.

I'd actually say that football has a harder time making their players instantly recognizable simply because of the necessity of equipment. I mean sure, the Mannings are recognizable, but that's due to their enormous coverage as well as their great portrayals in famous movies such as Forrest Gump and Seabiscuit. But most players are hard to spot without a plastic helmet with a giant team logo on either side. For example, I've been to the Pro Bowl several times and have stayed in the same hotel as the players and everyone had the same thoughts. Even with a pretty extensive knowledge of the sport, these guys are hard to pick out! You'd just assume that any guy above six feet tall and with a bit of muscle would be a pro football player. Baseball has a somewhat similar issue. How often do you see those guys without a hat or a helmet on? Hell, I didn't even know Albert Pujols was going bald until last year!

Sports like soccer and basketball make it MUCH easier to market their players simply because those sports don't require a head cover to play.

So....can someone explain to me how this is cool, but Wahoo is totally racist?

Mets Police posted this today, would this be acceptable?

I'm not one to get offended by anything, personally I think Wahoo and even the braves hat is fine, but I really hate double standards. And this one takes the cake.
