The Big Ol' Counterfeit Jersey Thread

Recommended Posts

They're both illegal but the former can be excused while the latter is absolutely disgusting. To equate the two is ridiculous.

I think I am much more likely to receive a speeding ticket than be busted for buying fake jerseys. Plus I am helping those poor factory kids get some money, if we all stopped buying where would they work? It seems like you are looking down upon these unfortunate souls.

You realize that they receive little to none of that money right? But of course as long as the child that can't get an education due to being forced to work in a sweatshop 16 hours a day for little to no money gets a little bit, everything is right with the world.

You are a disgrace.

So I should care about every single impoverished child in the entire world, give me a break. It's unfortunate that we have third world countries but it is not my fault. I cannot solve the worlds problems but I can save a cool $250 on an almost identical authentic.

Except most counterfeits aren't even close to identical. Furthermore, you can't solve the world's problems by yourself, but you could stop contributing to human rights issues in third-world countries by not buying counterfeits.

NHL Executive Vice President of Marketing Brian Jennings:

But a major concern for Jennings is the sale of counterfeit jerseys. He said not only are fans purchasing an inferior product, but they could also be helping people engage in illegal activities.

"I think we've seen a heightened increase of counterfeiting," Jennings said. "I think there's a lot of things that fans can do. Some of the dollars that get generated from counterfeit jerseys find their way back to terrorist-type activities. It's a big business, and not just from a hockey perspective but hockey in general. It's intellectual property, which is (a) main part of our collateral. It's a key element for us to protect, and we are quite vigilant in the marketplace for doing so."

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

I do believe you reserved your spot in Hell for that post. I hope you remember that when you fall on hard times and no one has compassion for you. This stuff always comes around full circle.

And if you are just a troll getting your jollies on, at least masturbate to porn instead of a sports logo community you sick :censored:.

Why argue with this troll and loogodude, they are seriously challenged individuals who obviously have no problem getting laughed at on a daily basis.

I have a fake that I didn't know was a fake at the time and the p.o.s. has completely fallen apart, it really isn't worth the money.

Lastly, my mom laughs at fakes when she sees them, my gf laughs at fakes, not only sports logo nuts and jersey collectors notice how foolish you guys look.

I liken you guys to the guy with the crappy car who thinks it is nice, everyone is looking at you guys because you look stupid but in your heads everyone thinks you look kewl.

Yeah, because it's SO possible for third-world children to do that without an education.

Once again not my probem.

Especially when they're being forced against their will to work.

That sounds like a problem with their government, being an American citizen there is little I can do to prevent that.

You should write to the NFL and inform them that their ridiculous mark up is causing all these problems to these poor countries.

None of mine are falling apart and I have had one of them for 7 years. I go to several sporting events a year and never had someone say a word. It looks you community is either a very small minority or too scared to confront someone who offends you, most likely both.

Hey now, I've found a few of Lee's posts groin-tuggingly funny.

Your :censored:ty jersey doesn't offend me, so I won't say anything to you if I see you in it.

I can't speak on the quality of woot of jerseys but please for the sake of argument, buy an MLB majestic authentic and a fake MLB jersey. If you can act like the quality of your fake is anywhere even close to the quality of an authentic then you are a better actor than most.

I was directed to this thread by one of the guys I get jerseys for, we both think you are all hilarious. I have several china jerseys and they have all stood up to multiple washes and look great for the price. I feel no shame depriving the leagues of my money in this case. I go to several games a year, pay for center ice, sunday ticket ect... The way players change teams and teams change designs I will continue to do this.

Might want to revisit this bit of info from a shop owner in my town who "got jerseys" for other guys...

http://www.justice.gov/usao/mn/press/apr022.pdf

Hope that works out well for you

I don't make any money off selling the jerseys, my friends pay what I pay. I just do the ordering. The case you referenced is irrelevant to me, I don't make a nickel off my friends, and I do not operate any sort of store. I am not doing anything illegal.

Think again Einstein. You do not have to profit nor operate any type of store to be trafficking...

My father is a corporate lawyer who deals with international business contracts, he has an extensive knowledge of these types of laws. Nothing is happening to me, if I were selling for profit or personal gain I could be but since I am not I am good.

It is illegal, ILLEGAL to sell ANY type of counterfeit merchandise, period. The fact that you're not selling it 'for profit' makes no difference.

The fact of the matter is you're knowingly purchasing counterfeit goods (which is illegal itself), then you're turning around and selling them to other people, which is even more illegal.

You have to be a troll, there's no way you can be this stupid.

I do not sell the jerseys, I give them to my friends. If I were to be arrested I would claim I have no idea and there would be no proof otherwise except for this site. I used a burner email account and will delete all evidence once I am done. There is also the fact that no one cares except for you guys.

There's only 8000 people in your town of Doylestown, Pennsylvania -- i'm sure not many of them sell counterfeit jerseys with a lawyer father.
