  1. I really like the idea for the negative space Empire State Building! I think it'd work a lot better with an unitalicized font for the "NY," and with the horizontal bar of the "Y" raised up a bit further so the diagonal part made by the building is level to the diagonal part on the other side. IMO would appreciate the gap between the sleeves stripes on the home & away be removed. That way, they'd match the logo and pants, and would look less Bills-y. Otherwise, a solid look. Not feeling the BFBS alternate at all, but the throwback is excellent.
  2. I get that you're just matching the horns and stripes, which is totally fair to keep as-is, but IMO the two feel distinct enough already that it wouldn't be a problem to change one but not the other. Really my issue with that helmet (and really all the helmets so far, besides Boston) is the templated coloration below the horns that drown the out the other, more interesting elements. The Cannons, on the other hand, are the first example where I like the helmet template + logo combo together and would rather the top stripes be removed. Good call going with the wordmark-less logo for the home & away. I really like that white alternate for the Cannons; the pinstripes really make a positive difference! I'd be curious to see the arched wordmark from the logo, and/or for the chevrons around the wordmark to be thicker and to match the sleeve stripes.
  3. Love the white/cream 3D beveling effect on the 4s! The sky blue drop-shadow is fine but I'd make the 4s' stems lower so you don't get that awkward step in the sky blue beneath the "wings," as you called them. The primary logo is also improved by the gaps, though I wonder if it'd look good with the white C's serifs not extending inside the blue C. One more thought; maybe it would look good to reduce the empty roundel space with "Cream City FC" on top and "Milwaukee WI" on the bottom (perhaps in a slightly smaller font size?) Anyways, thanks for considering my nitpicks : P You're absolutely right that this look has gotten way more cohesive! Definitely really close to completion here; good work.
  4. And here's another version with the base jersey design as, but with different logos: This set is all about capturing the '90s aggressive-animal theme of the Grizzlies... The new logo has 3D text like the Grizzlies did, and an angry orca jumping out of the water right at you! The alternate logos are an adapted Stick in Rink and an original Lions' Gate Bridge logo. These jerseys go with long triangle pattern... It slightly resembles sunlight on water but mostly I just thought it looked interesting. If there any suggestions for another Variation style, that'd be appreciated; if not, I'll be back shortly with the last idea I have for now!
  5. So glad to hear the seafoam works! And that that Whitecaps set wasn't too crazy for everyone :P Thank you so much! ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ Next up are TWO updated versions of my old Grizzlies take. A couple months back the Canucks did a First Nations Night jersey IRL, with some really gorgeous Salish art style logo designs by local Tsimshian artist Chase Gray... Gray's work would make an excellent full-time set (as @TrueNorth13's excellent alternate jersey proves!) so I just recolored their logos to gel with the jersey design I had before. Since it's a very meaningful aspect of the design, orange needed to be kept, at least as an accent color. Otherwise, the Grizzlies colors and jersey designs stay the same as before.
  6. I'm definitely loving the arrangement/composition of the tall and squat Cs in versions #2 and #6! I wonder if there's a serif font that would work with that arrangement but pair better with alt logo #4. Maybe something like Covington Bold? #4 looks excellent; a definite improvement over your previous version. I'm curious if it would still read properly as 4s if there were blue gaps between the cream stripes. I also agree with @packerfan21396 that a slightly skinnier 1 might be nice.
  7. Yeah, going without black would look cool, though I think it's tough because you've got so many colors going on, and so much black in the logo & ads... You could recolor those too, or leave them but put the numbers/Nike logos in orange? Understandable thought process, but unfortunately Gotham's logo gets lost in its own outlines IMO... Maybe an outline matching the color of the jersey behind it would be less intrusive? (i.e. teal at home, light seafoam in the road)
  8. I'd maybe ditch the outlines on the Gotham logo, but those jerseys are solid! That gradient-y away is really nice; gives me Minnesota Aurora vibes. I appreciate the return of light blue trim and white shorts to the Dash home kit (Dash & Dynamo both should look that way). Not sure about the navy blue on the away kit; that could all be black, I think? Anyways, those hoops look good! (They suit Houston well, though I think they'd be perfect for a Nashville SC concept) The placement of the NWSL logo is surprising, but it kinda works! I still prefer the sleeve, but what you've done + a second sleeve ad would definitely be better than the back-of-neck ads they're doing IRL. Good work!
  9. Not your fault, but the Archers logo isn't very good, so it kinda holds back your primary set a bit but everything there looks solid. The white alternate is super classy, though; I love that arched wordmark so much! The helmet is solid, though I wonder if the helmet manufacturing could allow the arrow head to go front and center, since the diagonal slashes on each side of center totally feels like the fletches of a single arrow, rather than the shafts of two. Either way, I might prefer a chevron pattern on the sleeves and shorts. I do second @eegl75 and @GoCubsGo about the royal blue (a half-and-half jersey like that training top would be quite nice) but I understand if you're saving it for another team. Love the combo of the striping pattern and the topo map for the Atlas; gorgeous design. That "blurple" alternate with the bull-head + number is awesome. The shorts striping is a bit out there for my taste, so I'm curious if it could be toned down a tad, but TBF it already works wonderfully! I think I'd prefer going blurple/cream/cyan/cream/blurple for the striping on all backgrounds. Also, did you consider removing the other trim on the helmets to better emphasize the horns? Anyways, I know very little about lacrosse, but so far you make these teams look really nice! I could be totally wrong, but I thought I saw somewhere on the boards that PLL was leaving Adidas soon, so curious if that'd influence any major changes to your designs.
  10. Those jerseys look pretty nice; that striping pattern is a nice unique element! I like the asymmetry, but I'm not really sure about the left shoulder design; maybe it wants to be a horizontal sleeve cuff stripe instead. I guess it's not an issue if you're considering this for USL Championship rather than MLS, but it gives off major Philadelphia Union vibes with the colors and vertical stripe. As for the logo, I'm not a fan of the inclusion of the soccer ball on your other versions, and versions 1-3 don't really read as the People's Flag to me without the sun. Your version 4 is the best version so far. The bricks are well-integrated there, and the CC monogram feels like a good direction. I think the 414 logo makes for a good secondary, so good call on switching to that. I'd like to see the CC monogram and 414 in more closely-matching fonts though. That said, I like the barrel theme and would be curious if that could be expanded upon again. One option could be to bring back the wood and incorporate curved bricks (sorta like this @MDGP Revs concept) in the outer ring of the roundel. Another option would be ditch the roundel in favor of a barrel-shaped crest, maybe with the bricks instead of the middle wooden band.
  11. I meant something like this (though maybe with fewer fibers) so that the tops of the fibers are open. Good start... but the Golden Gate Bridge specifically isn't really suited to the A's. I think the Bay Bridge, which starts in Oakland, would be better. You could rip that bridge's tower from the current Warriors logo (with some edits to make it symmetrical.) That full psychedelic A's set looks great; the home jersey is gorgeous! I'd love to see an "Oakland" wordmark for the away jersey. I think the green jersey would look good without number/script outlines, to match the cap better. The white star is an improvement for Texas! I guess it would look more flag-like if the stripes behind the star were the blue ones, but no worries if you'd rather not make the jersey red-dominant.
  12. Pretty odd idea, but you make it look good and fairly realistic! To get kinda nitpicky, I'd say the "Detroit" script could afford to have a couple changes to make it pair more with the "Cardinals" script (it should be skewed a bit less rightward, and the tops of the "T"s should end in diagonal cuts rather than the horizontal swashes) I'd be curious to see if this could exist in a sorta Red Wings-y style, with the brand stripped down to red and white only (barring the gray of an away jersey.)
  13. Next up is a design that captures a bit of my personal perception of downtown Vancouver... Arriving in the city after the three hour drive north, the skyscrapers always strike me with their surprisingly unified seafoam green color palette: I like the Kraken's use of that color just fine, but TBH it suits Vancouver more! (Trade plz? ) Anyways, I eventually decided this palate might pair well with the style of the rebrand the Canucks considered but ultimately rejected in 1989. That '89 logo doesn't quite do it for me, so I adapted my Skate x Millionaires V logo to match it. Maybe this is how that unused brand would look after a 2010s/2020s refresh! I repeated the skyline logo from my Skate variation, and created a new orca logo. Finally, I tweaked the black into an extremely dark teal. The alternate is a somewhat direct adaption of the abandoned uniform design, but the primary jerseys really make the seafoam green the star. All of them use this geometric abstracted skyline + water design in the striping: Anyways, what do you think of the Canucks in seafoam green, and is it too late for that now that the Kraken are around? C&C appreciated, as always!
  14. I love that '70s-tastic A's look; it really suits Oakland! (Makes me think of this @TheGiantsFan Berkeley soccer concept.) I'd be really curious to see a full set of groovy font for them (though perhaps without pinstripes, and maybe with a different number font...) Phillies also look quite solid in blackletter style. Your latest takes on the Chicago teams feel really true to themselves still, but the references are pleasant (if subtle), so good work there. Love what you've done for the Brewers a-la Atlanta. If anything, I'd those vertical fibers shortened and maybe without the horizontal tops of the white outlines. The reverse pairing is also nice (though that thick "E" is kinda funny lol); maybe I'd bring the sock stripes closer together. Good call on that ABC cap logo. Giants-A's swap is solid; no complaints. I like the O cap logo. I wonder if there could be a Bay Bridge logo for the A's like this logo. Texas and Houston swap really well. Your Astros script might benefit from a tail (maybe a shooting star tail) but overall the concept really makes me want to see them in powder blue IRL. The many randomly-recolored tequila sunrise ripoffs that happen IRL don't usually work for me, but yours works well, especially due to that cowboy star (how would it look in white; more like the state flag, perhaps? Anyways more excellent work here!
  15. Definitely liking the classic look for Cheshire; feels pretty Sonics-y in a nice way... Though the font and design are a bit disconnected from the logo... I'm curious if it works in the font for "Cheshire" from the logo, or even with an arch rather than a hoop to go with the "Phoenix" wordmark. Same goes for the font on the third, but the design is excellent. I like each of the existing patterns for the Patriots, and the sublimated jersey design with the teal corner is a good idea... But they're a bit busy together (not your fault...) I just wonder if the teal diamonds could be skewed/rotated so each diamond covers exactly 2 triangles. I think the solution for the Kings could be to have the crown un-sublimated, but horizontal and across the top (similar to the white alternate.) Your Bristol Flyers set is perfect! Excellent work on that one. If only the logo was as nice Birmingham also looks quite nice. Sorry to say, but I'm really not feeling Bradford. The barberpole striping is a solid idea, but a bit small and not perpendicular to the sleeves, and it really doesn't pair with those swoopy side panels IMO. Not feeling any of the fonts, which I see online are the IRL fonts, but the many outlines make for especially poor legibility. I'd be curious to a see a third jersey for Solent in the vein of the Minnesota United wing kit...
  16. As you might be able to tell, I've been on a bit of a spree lately of reworking my concepts from a couple years ago, so I'm revisiting this old thread briefly with a few updates. First off is an update of my Flying Skate design. I'm still happy with my old jersey designs, but the logo did NOT hold up for me; it feels kinda amateurish to me now. The update feels a lot better to me... what do folks think? In addition, there are new alternate logos added to the mix. And the design in West Coast Express and Whitecaps colors versions, as before. Now with new alternate jerseys (they're even more out there than the primary set, but hopefully they're still okay!) I'll be back with a couple more updates soon. C&C appreciated!
  17. The Phil logo looks great! The gray Yankees also look good, though after seeing it, I wonder if navy/gray/navy striping would be better The Dodgers and Giants look great; I like NY's all-black cap paired with the black-less jersey, and the BK works really well for the Dodgers! (I imagine a BK cap monogram would be hard to create, so good call with the D cap logo.) I forget if both those teams used BoSox numbers IRL, but on the front they're a bit big for the more delicate Giants script. How about teal instead of black, then?
  18. Though I think a complex design like this might better fit a minor league affiliate or another "Devils" team rather than the simple New Jersey brand, I really like this idea for a logo! That said, the integrated composition of different elements is clever, but the goalie mask and pitchfork aren't quite reading properly to me. Having the blades of the hockey sticks higher than the chin puck (closer to the skull aesthetic on your pen & paper sketches) would help. I'd also suggest lowering and enlarging the pitchfork and adding subtle barbs to its prongs, so it defines the bottom of the nose. (Maybe adding a bit of curl to the bottom corner of the eyes could define the top of the nose.) Some small things, the tape on the sticks' shaft could parallel the top of the head, and the whole logo could have a thick black outline. Other than the aforementioned pitchfork, the triangle alt logo is great! Also, that logo animation is totally gorgeous! Very smooth and the glowing effect is excellent. I keep waffling about the uniform... The black/green gradient is wonderful, and great for those swamp vibes, but I'm not 100% sold on the striping. IMO the sleeves are too complex for a such a plain hem stripe. First thought, maybe have only red upward triangles, on the black part of a gradient sleeve, with green cuffs below the red line, and add green below the red hem stripe. Anyways, thanks for putting up with all my nitpicking, cuz I think it's really only a bunch of minor tweaks before you're totally golden!
  19. Addition of the Stick in rink looks good. Not crazy about the double outline on the skinny Agency font; I'd ditch the white. Red flying V looks good; perhaps a bit Flames-y, but far better than the yellow!
  20. Cap looks pretty good, and the pants work well. Number could be a bit bigger, I think. Could we see that sleeve patch with a purple outline? Looks kinda odd without one.
  21. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia look great! The Phillies cap gives a tiny hint of NLB Philadelphia Stars vibes, which is a nice side effect. Would be fun to see a sleeve patch for the Phillies with either the Phanatic, Phil, or Phyllis's head with crossed bats behind it, like the Pirates' logo. I like the gradient styling for the Marlins, though I imagine it'd look better without black as part of the gradient... The Rays look good with pinstripes. Your Yankees - Mets swap is great as-is, though I'm curious how the Yankees one would look with gray trim instead of red.
  22. It's an interesting baseball take on the '22 Sounders Hendrix kit; I definitely appreciate the reduction of the color palette down from 6 colors to 3. The font styling is very well done too. Honestly, though, this jersey reminds me a lot more of the questionable 2010 "Electricity" kit... I'm not really a fan of neon yellow + lime green together, but you make this scheme look about as good as it can. At least your shades are tonal enough that they work better than that kit, and they're *just* yellow enough that we avoid an especially painful purple/green clash. I'd personally rather see tonal shades of athletic gold / yellow, which would definitely convey the foliage idea better, but maybe that's too close to the Sounders' take... Like @coco1997 says, I'm wondering about the cap logo, and also the pants. I definitely couldn't get on board with matching neon yellow pants (this combo is so much better than that), so they'd either have to be white or purple... Idk.
  23. That Sharks set is a gorgeous update! Leagues better than both the overwhelming '97 set it's based on and the underwhelming current set. The yellow-orange stripe is a much-needed warm pop for a California team, and it looks great on this template. As @eegl75 says, teal numbers would help on the road (and the black alt), since the teal and orange outlines bleed together. It also looks like the name fonts are different between home & road; I say keep the home font. I also think the helmets should go with the now primary logo, since the SJ logo gets lost on the white helmet. I'm curious, how would the jerseys look with full hem striping? The alts are really nice, especially those gradient sleeves! I'd just ask for an orange hem stripe on the black. and for the flag one's stripes to continue on the back (with black numbers, perhaps.) Those Penguins jerseys are similarly lovely... that's the classy and modern black uniform that the Robo-penguin logo deserved but didn't get! The blue alternate is also nice; just needs a navy hem stripe above the white. Not really feeling the yellow alt in execution. All the elements are there, but all those black outlines atop the checkerboard get kinda busy.
  24. I quite like those Flyers alternates! I assume you're going with red pants on the Spectrum/Philly teams jersey? I'd only say that the Flyers primary logo on the shoulder needs a thicker outline or a shoulder yoke to be more visible. FWIW I side with @Karnage84 about ditching gold striping for the Sens IRL, but I agree with you that your laurel-based concept needs gold. I really like your updated version with more red a lot, and the thinner gold stripe with sublimated laurels is far more pleasant than the IRL alt jersey it's based on. The way both jerseys are designed, though, I think it calls for red pants! If that doesn't appeal to you, I might go black/white/gold/white/black striping and red numbers on the away, and red/black/gold/black/red and white (or red) numbers at home. Also I like that Ottawa flag-colored one; would actually love to see the Canucks use that jersey design & shades! I agree that could look pretty darn good!* They'd certainly have ditch gold entirely to pull that off. That way, the white and gold don't fight for attention and the red accent isn't drowned out, which I think happen to some extent in the original white-heavy concept. *much like the Devils' new uniform, which acts on that very idea! Unpopular opinion, I know ; ) For the Rangers, the jerseys are a solid (if a bit safe) take on how they'd look without their wordmark; less out of the blue than the '70s jerseys at least! Any chance we could see it with the more interesting yokes they usually have? Good to see green on Lady Liberty again; perhaps you were thinking of this concept by @StevenGrant94? I would not have guessed that a gradient would work well for the Islanders of all teams, but that's actually really nice on that alt! I'd ditch the lighthouse on that jersey, and *maybe* I'd consider adding hem stripes, but definitely a fantastic look! I appreciate the toned down Fisherman too, even if it's not my preferred look. Well, you're right about the Devils when you say the numbers are out of place... Maybe you could try black striping instead of white? It'd reflect the logo more... Anyway, more good work here!
